I wasn't expecting a renewal, now we need Kim to stay :falcon:

Okay, so I have never seen any of the original and I wasn't really too interested in watching it, but recently I thought I would give it a shot.

However... do I have to watch this? And what I mean by this... are fans actually enjoying this/considering it part of the original, enjoying it for what is/not counting it as part of the OG series, forcing yourself to watch it, etc??

I was so scared they were going to end the show there with Carrie moving to Aiden's farm :skull:

Yeah, just make sure you watch the BluRay rip and not the messy 240p DVD version. The show was remastered really well in HD and still feels fresh and fun to watch in 2023.

Not Che being the main photo in that article :bibliahh: They’ll really never ditch her for some reason

Somehow they always stay here, I CAN stand it :jonny:

I'm happy it's getting renewed, there's a lot of plotlines that are unfinished. Also, I can't wait to see how messy Carrie and Aidan's breakup will be. :duca:

Excited we're getting another season. Just caught up on the last 2 episodes with my Mom (both huge Sex & the City fans) and it was a great binge.

Praying we get Kim back even in a recurring capacity.

I had the same thought :bibliahh: Carrie moving to farm and Che becoming the new lead protagonist in S3 I fear.

Colour me surprised re: renewal. I have no idea where it can go from here but will stay tuned since s2 picked itself up from the sewers slightly.

The OG? Yeah it genuinely has great moments, as long as you remember it was the product of its time and some storylines don't apply to today's world views. It was genuinely laugh out loud funny at times, you'll enjoy it as a 1st watch if you're into this type of light hearted HBO raunchy comedy show.

This follow up is not as good, a lot of fans do not consider it as a continuation and it's really up to you whether you consider the movies + this as canon. Whether you like it or not the characters are back and we're all just watching because we like seeing these characters alive and interacting with the modern world again, cringe writing or not... so at least for me, no i'm not forcing, and sometimes it suprises me and is a decent watch. I wouldn't recommend it to a beloved SATC fan though.

Variety knew exactly what they were doing with using that image for the headline  :toofunny3:

I’ve never seen the series. I’ve only seen the 2 films and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 2 seasons of AJLT. Charlotte is really fun. And I’d really love to see what Samantha is all about in S3. She was great in the films

Thank you  This was really helpful. And yeah, I let things be a product of its time because you wouldn't be able to enjoy anything otherwise

90% sure this won't be renewed so this being the finale/end note of sex and the city is even more depressing than it ending on the second movie tbh. i will never be able to even begin to understand the choices made on this show.

anyway, here's how i feel like kim's cameo will go:

carrie has her dinner for 16, one open seat for aiden. he calls and says isn't coming and he needs to be with the annoying (gay) son in virginia and now isn't the right time for them or whatever. carrie is gutted, but then she gets a facetime from samantha who says "honey, i'm outside. room for one more?" and carrie in voiceover says "and just like that, my table was full again" or something. fin.

Crying at (gay). :ahh:

Well here's the easy solution:

As @Vespertine said, Aidan realizes he can't be in the city for Carrie because he needs to be with his family, so Carrie agrees to leave NY for him.

Samantha calls at the end of the ep to announce she's moving back to NY.

In S3, Samantha is a main cast member while Carrie only appears in short cameos in which she's talking on the phone to the girls.

This way, Kim and SJP never have to film scenes together and everyone is happy :alexz2: Just find a way to kill off Che and it could be a great season.

I'd be down for that if they got rid of MPK.

Btw, correct me if I’m wrong, but did Kim even star in anything watch-worthy after SATC? I genuinely feel like she’s never had a single decent show after ditching the franchise.

Glamorous was pretty fun but I'd say it's in the same vein of over the top campy cringe comedy - so not for everyone

I personally loved Glamorous but... no, not really. but neither have her co-stars, except maybe Cynthia. I guess Jessica had that Divorce show?

This... He is a ridiculously bad writer, he's ruined both movies and the revival.
