NYPD Blue : I started this cause I enjoyed Hill Street Blues (same creators’). But unlike HSB which was great ensemble drama, NYPD Blue is one of most procedural thing I ever seen so I’m dropping this after season 1. Kind of shame I thought the writing is good but couldn’t stand the pattern.

Barney Miller : This is great! Great talented multiracial casts with limited police station set.l, meanwhile writing is pretty decent.

Also dropped The Twilight Zone 1959 also.

Ayee you're back  I'm glad, it's been a while!!!

Holy **** S1 The Shield is soo good :jonny: What an ensemble! Every character is essential (obviously i'm biased towards Vic even when I'm rooting against him lol)

Lukewarm about S1 of Sex and The City but it's a nice watch! So far, Miranda is the most annoying one of the bunch (i guess it's intentional) but all their storylines are enjoyable. Charlotte>>>

Catching up on Justified so i can watch the new Spin-off (currently on S2). As always very fun, Walton Goggins is brilliant!!

It only gets more crazy from there.

Posters don't really amount to much or are the center of television promotion really nowadays, try the trailer and see if it interests you. I didn't care for the first 3 episodes so I didn't continue but it's actually one of the best looking shows of the year.

Honestly a poster has never been enough to judge a tv show or a movie, same for a music album, like some can be done better than others, but you have to read at least the synonypsis otherwise it's impossible to know what a show is about from the poster alone, that post seemed to me a moronic and blatant way to troll.

The Other Two season 3 was great, the Dubeks and all their shenanigans are so fun. I'm sad the show is ending too bad the creators are POS that got the show cancelled

Get Smart 1965 was such a goofy fun series! kind of shame that it didn't have impactful ending but it totally ended with its own style. Loved it a lot.

St. Elsewhere has none of likeable cast, like at all but keep watching right now. Season 4 so far and it gets little more dramatic, kind of annoying.

It really does omg :jonny5: what a rollercoaster!! Binged the first 4 seasons in a week.

Currently on S5 and even though i like him, something feels off abt Whitaker's performance especially compared to what Anderson and close did on S4 but we'll see how it goes!

It's interesting to see him not being apologetic when confronted about his ~lies. On one hand, i guess it's for "comedic" purposes so he can afford to (even though the whole story with his prom date reeks of loser behavior...)

The way he keeps referring to his background as a justification for making up stories makes him come off as a professional victim... Kinda like that kid who kept writing BLM for his application to Harvard or whatever

Everyone bends the truth for comedy to make the jokes punchier but this is beyond that lmfao, gotdamn.

Thought MASH was fantastic! Started as sitcom but then became mostly drama, but it actually worked.

Most of episodes were above ok-enjoyable, but high points were really high. Which was very hard to do for 11 seasons broadcast show.

(Have to criticize some Korean things they tried but actually are not Korean, though. )

____

yeah season 1 is still the bleakness, it was just people suffering without much going on.

People didn't like the 1st season of Foundation that much so it doesn't get much hype this season, same with the Wheel of Time

I didn't even bother to watch them because of the reviews

I’m currently rewatching Supernatural for the first time since the series finale aired in 2020 and it feels good being back with my boys. Forever my comfort show!

I saw a tweet being like "His behavior is the result of how the US has treated muslims post 9/11" but like... lying about your own daughter getting poisoned for sympathy points is next level crazy :deadbanana4:

Halfway through Sex And The City and i gotta say SJP talking in AAVE during the S3 finale was the icing on the cake on top of all the transphobic **** :skull: It's also very interesting bc so far the show did not age badly imo apart from that (and that creepy sub plot about the dude who secretly likes filming women in bed and Carrie being cool with it). I mean, we are still having the same silly discourse that she talks about on her columns on twitter lol

I think my only quibble about the show is how Miranda is treated throughout the series so far. Like how can an accomplished lawyer settle for a bartender??? and then they make her become this pathetic cat lady who loves food :rip: She deserves better...

I finally had the time to watch the last 2 episodes of the Leftovers, they were absolutely amazing and beautiful :weeps:

Everything is excellent from writing, soundtrack, acting, ..etc. The show is truly one of the best I have ever watched.

That's a show I'm never going to bother getting around to.

The writers strike is over, which means a lot of shows will at least get their scripts written, but actors are still on strike. What are y'all looking forward to?? They are going to dump SO many shows on us in the Spring :rip:

HBO is so in the toilet rn, they're worse off than 2019 when we thought they'd struggle with their slate ending (then Succession S2 blew up). But I'm still pulling for them (I only saw half of TLOU, need to finish). Righteous Gemstones is CARRYING

Speaking of being in the toilet... this is soo embarrassing for them

Also the lineup for next year seems ok ( interested in the Park Chan-wook series, also new Curb and My Brilliant Friend!!!)

You know how online right wingers claim The White Lotus as being secretly conservative art? That's kinda what i think about Sex And The City lol. Sure, it was groundbreaking for its time, and i give them credit for not going for the predictable trope of making their female characters fight over men. But i do feel like they toy with the idea that despite being "an empowered woman", you ultimately end up making sacrifices (eg: The Samantha cancer plot on the final season was terrible imo. Also, the only girl who had it easy is the rw's favorite prototype, Trad Wife Charlotte...)

But it's a great show i recommend it! Also the new reboot was good too, i don't understand the outrage. It's basically lifestyle p0rn, what's not to like lol

I was looking forward to the new Julio Torres series following Los Espookys but there's no mention of it in that HBO article so that's unfortunate...

What are y'all up to lmao, this year I'm watching Six Feet Under finally.

The way my time is spent on discord and twitter nowadays :skull: also, ik it's not exactly busting out the seams rn, but if any of you want a bluesky invite PM me. It's much easier to monitor TV (and other) discussions with their feed algorithim. Lots of TV critics are on there and some of the press sites like Variety and Deadline are there.

Currently I'm watching the new season of True Detective, I haven't seen anything last year except for the new seasons of the Bear and Succession, I've so many shows I need to watch Beef, Blue Eye Samurai, Silo, Bad Sisters, Andor, Poker Face, Fargo S05, OMITB S03, Invincible,....etc
