Expand In no context does it make sense for a Democrat to say that we need a strong Republican Party while the Republican Party has been successfully overthrowing Civil Rights despite not controlling either chamber of Congress or the White House. The Republican Party is plenty strong and Pelosi's comment is indefensible regardless of the context.

ClashAndBurn Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 I'll give Biden credit for saying, when asked, that there are "at least three genders." Whether he truly believes that or not, I don't know, but it shows he can be perceptive to some talking points coming from progressive points of mind. That said, his and Kamala's chronic inability to even say the word "abortion" is... disheartening. The people they're avoiding upsetting with that word won't even vote for them anyway, so there's no point skirting around it.

rihannabiggestfan Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 Can Hillary like go away forever please. The fact that she's being included in 2024 polls As the rot that has sickened the Democratic party, she is just SO toxic - as are her cultlike supporters that still champion all her BS

Harrier Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 Tulsi just feels like a conservative. It's the way she presents herself, the people she chooses to attack, the issues she chooses to elevate. Sure, she nominally supported M4A during the primary - but was she out there fighting for it non-stop like Bernie? She's always been about reactionary political stunts, even when she was posing as a progressive It's why conservatives all like her, policy aside, and why liberals and some sharper progressives like Ana at TYT have always (correctly, funnily enough) perceived her as untrustworthy.

Expand This is not true.. Liberals hated her because she (correctly) called Hillary a warmonger. Liberals are why navigating criticizing Tulsi for ages was so tough because their criticisms of her were across the board bad. No, being against regime change is not bad. No, not liking Hillary doesn't make someone a Russian spy. And while Tulsi's reactionary trans hate has made it silly and unserious to bother defending her, I don't think liberals can consider that a point for their 'distrust' of her given how we now know that she and Hillary Clinton both share the view that trans people are burdensome and politically dispensable. Tulsi is a gross reactionary on nearly all social issues yet still somehow had the most progressive voting record out of all 4 of Hawaii's elected Congressional Democrats. Ed Case is literally a DINO. Brian Schatz actively resents native Hawai'ians and sees the state as nothing but a military base, while Mazie Hirono is feckless in her lack of support for progressive policies despite representing the deepest blue yet most unequal state. Yes, Tulsi is bad, but that just highlights how bad all of Hawaii's elected Democrats have been and are.

Yes, Tulsi is bad, but that just highlights how bad all of Hawaii's elected Democrats have been and are. Expand Sure you're right. I forget that the blue check twitter zombies are liberals. Tulsi aggressively went after Hillary, but then turned around and endorsed Joe Biden after wearing kid gloves with him for the entire primary. During the primary she went after Warren & Kamala, while leaving Joe & Bernie alone. Like her conservative fans, she shows disproportionate disdain for female democrats compared to male democrats, regardless of policy. It's indicative of her regressive social inclinations. Even if you agree with the attacks on people like Kamala (as I did), it's good to be aware that she may not be attacking her for the right reasons. Politics should be about the material needs of constituents, not about destroying people or groups you don't like. The latter is the politics Tulsi represents.
rihannabiggestfan Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) WARren and everyone to her right is bad tbh, but at least Tulsi had (and occasionally continues to have) some good anti-establishment moments, unlike many of the corporate/corrupt/warmongering establishment shills (like Hillary, Biden, Pelosi, etc) in that category She dragged Pete too tho (in before "we know why" ) She basically called him a coward Tulsi was very clearly trying to get VP so she was being nice to Biden by not attacking him (plus they were friends - probably not anymore tho since she's calling him a treasonous, authoritarian dictator on TV lol) and she's friends with Bernie too of course, having endorsed him in 2016 (so conservative!) and being listed as his VP in the 2016 California GE aaaa, a classic Edited July 8, 2022 by rihannabiggestfan
