"Harnessing backlash" is such an opaque and overused/abused terminology from think tanks and the Beltway class now, but how this manifests....like, if they actually attempt deporting them it seems more tangible for 'heart-breaking' media narratives to wake non-voters up more than Roe. I don't know, maybe too optimistic of me but since so much of politics now has been reduced to branding and emotion (it always was but it never was as obvious imho) I'm just trying to get some kind of silver lining from the inevitable SCOTUS ruling and implementation of deportation as they're all registered.

Yep, finally saw $4.15 again where I live. And it’s $4.53 at a gas station that was @ $4.89 about a month ago, when I unfortunately ran out of gas in that (expensive) part of town.

Realistic chance she would have lost re-election to a generic Republican in 2020 because people would be pissed at her over COVID, and Roe would still be on the chopping block since her Republican successor would have been able to appoint two SCOTUS justices immediately.

Polls are good references but have many problems. People need to remember they are based on sample sizes, do not reflect the entire population, and people spend too much time online and get in their head about certain things based on whatever their bias is. Most Americans are not answering polls and approval rating questions. But polls sure do make an easy graphic for people to justify their beliefs with nice colors and numbers they like. And most of the people online speaking and answering these things are the loud ones anyway. You don't really see the quiet ones mostly, which is the majority. The country is massive. You can throw every poll at me. I don't care. It does not make you right and does not represent reality. Many presidents have awful ratings and get re-elected or end up fine. Many people are winning or losing polls by large margins and do the opposite. Like people base their entire beliefs on polls and need to go outside
