La Luna Posted May 25 Posted May 25 This is insane. She won so bad. All the girls deserved it so much. So happy for the joint win. Emilia Pérez movie of the year yup 3 1
#SG2 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Praying for her first Best Supporting actress nomination in all the awards season. 1 1
ShadeIena Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I am so emotional for Sel. I hope this opens more doors and motivates her to keep working in Spanish. It's being a long way so proud of her omg
aquababy Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Cannes Best Actress Winner Selena Gomez Netflix better come through with the campaign, it doesn't seem like that have a lot going on otherwise. Anyway, Karla will be competing in lead and Selena in supporting obviously but it's still unclear where Zoe will be. Originally, based on what was shared before Cannes it seemed like Zoe and Selena would both be supporting to Karla's character but the reviews seem to point to Zoe's character basically equalling Karla's in screen time so idk. hopefully that's how it plays out so selena doesn't have to split any support in her categories with zoe a win is a win regardless, also the best soundtrack win was cute especially with "El Camino" being the supposed "lead" of said soundtrack love to see her career keep growing over time and I will be celebrating the '25 Selaissance just stay off instagram queen

Sadly, I can't see both getting in the supporting category at same time. Specially if Selena won't go full force with the campaign. After all, nothing is guaranteed. Remember OMITB? THAT snub from Emmys still hurts Things could change of course, if Emilia Pérez keeps the momentum they got from the Cannes and receive some acclaim/support from the public and others critics, this would influence on the awards and make all the girls get noms. Ngl I'm really hoping for this lol Win something with El Camino would be amazing, but as actress ... Yeah, would be peak victory. 16 hours ago, aquababy said: a win is a win regardless, also the best soundtrack win was cute especially with "El Camino" being the supposed "lead" of said soundtrack love to see her career keep growing over time and I will be celebrating the '25 Selaissance just stay off instagram queen Emilia Pérez run is already a huge success solely by the victory at the Cannes. Ughh so so happy. It's feels like a fever dream. And yes, she needs to stay away from social media lol. Now, more than ever, she needs a clean and classy status if she wants to have any chance in the awards season. So yeah, no more TikTok for Miss Gomez. Aleen better work for once. La Luna Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I'm optimistic about El Camino tbh MM&M( a slower and no so hyped song) managed to make into the Oscar short list, so there's hope for Selena. I just hope she got credited. 1 1

A dream anyway when the film premiered last week I was hoping they'd split the lead actress prize with Emilia Perez but I wasn't too hopeful since that's not very common at Cannes and there were other buzzy standouts from the festival like Demi Moore and Mikey Madison I thought for sure it would never happen but to my surprise we like you Greta 6 hours ago, La Luna said: Emilia Pérez run is already a huge success solely by the victory at the Cannes. I really wish we get some music between the next couple of months
ShadeIena Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Just dropped some facts about Selena's scrapped singles and gosh every era is so messy
Bhabylon Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Watching some Emilia Perez interviews -- Selena puts herself down so much, it's kind of annoying In one interview, she says she doesn't think her Spanish was as good as she wanted it to be And in the Q&A pannel she said she isn't sexy 1

Yeah, I'm curious to see what they are going to do with Zoe. Karla will flourish in the awards season. She's about to make history. Who would thought? When Emilia Perez was announced I was very skeptical about the project tbh. The premise was interesting but at same time it sounded kinda messy. Ughh I'm so happy everything went well. The awards season is going to be so fun. Edited May 29 by La Luna

She better promote this song like her career depends on it. Like, imagine ignoring a song that has the potencial to snatch a Oscar nom... Oh no no no, she better work. Netflix better step in. Btw, I don't care about sg3. It's Emilia Pérez era now. Now more than ever she needs to distance herself from her Pop diva/celeb skin and dive into the actress skin. We want the acting awards. We said yes to the arts, no to the charts Edited May 29 by La Luna 1
corotinho Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I feel like Netflix will go hard on Karla on main field on american awards. Zoe probably will take Netflix's atention on supporting field and for Selena i feel like they will try the soundtrack field. It's too soon to know if it has some chance at Oscar, but i feel like the academy and Netflix itself thinks Selena is stronger on a music category, since she's an A-list musician and it looks like Zoe's character is bigger than Selena's on the movie, so it makes sense that they will try her on supporting field.
corotinho Posted May 29 Posted May 29 But also, Selena has a strong chance on this year's Emmy Best Actress nom for OMITB, so if it happens, her profile will be elevated and Oscar academy will give her some atention too. Anyway, her actress career is looking so promising... i feel like she's happier than ever was.
La Luna Posted May 29 Posted May 29 No even one post about Selena's Cannes win on Aleen's ig. Hm, that sus... Do we think she got fired?

I'm still bitter about them giving noms to 2/3 of the trio. That snub was nasty work But who knows, maybe this year they'll give her flowers. Now she's a Cannes winner, and this is going to definitely shake the table and change things for her. Edited May 29 by La Luna
ShadeIena Posted May 29 Posted May 29 She spoke about touring again Such a good new She hates us lol but she needs to acknowledge that he is not a good person at all. She has said horrible things about her and he is also a weirdo. Motherlena 1

I doubt it but Selena has been (slowly) changing her team again tbh
La Luna Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) Kim Kardashian on Variety's Actors On Actors but no Selena.... Tf is this? I thought it was a classy party, REAL actors only Well, I guess not Edited May 29 by La Luna

Maybe someone who can manage both an artist and actress at the same time Maybe i'm biased, but i'm over Aleen lol It's 2024, Selena is a A-list, at this point there's very little a stagned/lazy manager like Aleen can do for Selena's career. OMITB, Emilia Pérez and even the Linda's Biopic is all thanks to Selena herself. What was Aleen doing besides booking silly cameos for Selena? Seriously, I want to know. The way Selena was being messy for 2 hours straight on IG comments and yet no one intervened was a huge sign of how much of a mediocre manager Aleen is. A real manager would've step in and locked Selena out of her IG/TikTok account and changed the password immediately. Also, the lack of action against all those fake rumors and defamation. The way no one got sued... No wonder people felt so comfortable to lie on Selena's name. Like, Aleen has the weakest game of the industry, I'm telling you. No guts at all. I admit Aleen was good with dealing with brands and getting fat checks, I'm gonna give it to her. But you know what? So is Selena. She can do this every well too, she's a business woman after all. Anyways, good for Aleen, now she can focus on Olívia, just the way she wanted all along. I wish a good luck for Miss Rodrigo tho I think that Selena should hire two managers. Someone that really knows the music industry and will put his foot on interscope's neck. And another one that really know how to pick up good acting projects for her. No more cameos, thank you. Now that she's a Cannes winner her name is even more valuable. The new manager better work Edited May 29 by La Luna 1
