I don't think Gracie is the reason she releases music, I think Selena wants to release music but she is just all over the place with her direction of choice, I bet she had a lot of fun doing Fetish / Stained and she will be more than happy to do this kind of projects again. And it's not like Love On is something a 10-year-old should listen to tbh, Love On / Single Soon is just teen pop music, like she used to put out when she was on Disney - but at least in Disney it had some production, it had some value and emotion, all her latest projects feel like an empty song with trash melody.
Selegend Posted February 29 Posted February 29 (edited) Curious if she'll keep releasing with this "happy carefree pop" or if they'll stop and re-think things like... i can see she still releasing with less & less investment by the label and just having fun with it. i literally can see it and i think this have great chances of happening... it makes sense from the stage of the career and hollywood that she is. billionaire, health issues, also an actress. it just makes sense if she wants to just have fun with music but if her team or record label come thru i think the best strategy would be a killer collab soon (next 2 months) another collab but very different from this one in the end of the year and the proper era starting in january 2025... this year is packed. what she can't do is stay the whole year without releasing more singles. even if it's in Love On direction it will be better for her than nothing the HUGE hiatus she gets is the main reason for the numbers (despite people just not ******* with the new sound) she's a celebrity, an actress, a make-up guru. all of that way more than a singer so that's what happens. people think of her in very various ways before thinking of her as a popstar and with that of course they lose interest about her music. it's important that they keep releasing! in a strategic way 2 more collabs and album in 2025 different from the 2 droplets (SSand LO) without a strategy and just having fun with it she also needs to keep releasing imo but in that way there's not so much strategy that can save it so it is what it is. but to keep releasing is important.
