Normani probably had to fight to get any budget for the next single music video, mainly because of the scrapped Fair MV. Why would the label invest in something else if she didn’t even bother releasing the last one shot?

I have a feeling what she really shot was Warm Embrace tbh. It coincides with the dates.

I think people def report info from their perspective/the perspective of their source but at the end of the day nothing can convince me there’s some grand conspiracy. I’m always someone who tends to believe a problem is multi-faceted, but Mani herself has even mentioned delaying things to seek perfection, and if that’s even a little bit true, it’s always been confusing to me.

 I'm pretty sure she shot a fair video. It was with the cinematographer for euphoria.

She filmed something over 3 days. Her mom tweeted about it too and Brandon posted he was proud of her. Only for it to never see the light of day I-

 

Fair was the beginning of the end, her instincts were non existent on that one. But if the video was filmed why shelf it? Another stupid move

That never made sense to me. Maybe @nooniebaois actually right and what she was shooting was the CB video. I think there were rumours of another shelved MV before Wild Side came out. Her career is the most bizarre thing I've seen.

Girl if they were doing all that hyping over a CB cameo then I don’t know what to say. I really don’t.  I never watched the full video but it did seem elaborate with the under water stuff so maybe that was the 3 day shoot

Yes, I get the impression the 3-day shoot was not related to her own music. Some fans in the know/reliable people on other corners of the internet suspect that RCA refused to fund a Fair video. I don’t think one exists tbh.

No video cameo like that takes multiple days to shoot. It was clearly a one day shoot for Normani’s parts. Can we be serious?

I never considered that tbh, but it's not really unlikely for that to be true. Lots of artists are releasing without MVs, and I feel like that's becoming an industry thing. Labels don't want to invest money before they're sure the song is a hit (which is completely idiotic - Capitalism destroying music).

This is the only thing that actually makes some sense. As for Candy Paint the summer is pretty much over so wether it’s coming or not they’ve missed the boat

Wow. Not Normani being “mostly” the reason for the delay. Self sabotaging her own career and there’s nothing we can do about it.

 

While I do believe that she has an incompetent team, she still shouldn’t be given this much power to constantly delay things. At this point, everything IS her own fault. Sad, really. 
 

And I agree, I no longer think the 3 days video shoot was for Fair. It must be something else since I am not convinced it would’ve taken that long to film her cameo for the Chris Brown video.

I think the 3 day video shoot was for fair but the song flopped so bad that it didn't make any sense to actually release it at the time. I believe they were going to save it for when the album came out to add to it's streaming numbers.

Do y’all suffer from short-term memory loss? I’m genuinely concerned. It was pretty evident that the three day shoot was for Fair. Y’all convinced yourselves she hasn’t filmed a video for CP yet and now y’all are convincing yourselves Fair doesn’t have a video either. 

 

The girl wanted to release a video for Fair. Why would she be saying these things if she wasn’t planning on doing so?

Yeah, she shot a video for Fair in March (after the visualizer came out). There's an insider on Popjustice who I did my research on.  Sometimes I scare myself.  He works for Sony and he has confirmed tea. I've seen him on video shoots for other artists.

I remember that insider said Checklist was supposed to be a single (it's obvious too because they set a date for radio impact) but they scrapped it. He also said Ring was supposed to be a single early 2019 but they scrapped it. Remember she teased the lyrics for Fader?

 

Fair was a single with a video they never released. And this isn't inside information but it took them about 3 months after shooting Waves to release that video. Normani had to pay for Wild Side budget. Normani went on tour with Ariana with no proper solo single. Normani released Motivation at the end of the summer after all her festivals and touring was over and now Candy Paint is falling by the way side.

 

Her team is bananas and as much as people get on here and point fingers at her, you have to observe that the people around her are worsening if not enabling the dysfunction in her career. What are they getting paid for if not to offer guidance and direction? Scary stuff.

People in this Normani base thread literally will argue in depth about something one month, then forget and argue about it all over again in another. Ignore them.

 

Fair video is probably coming with the album. They’re going to try and give the album a fighting chance with a bit extra streaming points.
