But relative to the rest of the set she had some nice moments. Her breath control has diminished, but there is some great creativity there as well.
Rocket Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 And so it begins Her happy place is clearly being a Christmas fad.

suburbannature Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 The last C5 is one of her very best attempts of that note
Topaz Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Its crazy bc precovid she was able to do full performances

It can be regained with practice and the right technique, though. We wants belts at this point. Whistles are over

Mandalay Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 So Moo is having Christmas concerts. Pray for non-tragic vocals

Pray for non-tragic vocals I think if she at least stops drinking alcohol, rest her voice and stops using a corset or whatever she uses when she's performing, then I think she'll have a good performance

Her breath control has diminished, but there is some great creativity there as well. Yeah! That's the crazy weird thing. Her mid belts and lower notes have so much of a better tonal quality and flexibility and (in these clips, at least) when she tries to do an upper belt or do a soft voice, her cords get locked up like that dreaded Xmas performance. But then she has these little moments of sounding great and free for mere moments before struggling again. I don't know if she's sick or it's her breath support. She's had issues like this even in the late 90s where it looks like her voice is just inflamed and not cooperative. Maybe it's jetlag or what not - but she's definitely in a state where, even if she rests (assuming she is), her cords will do what they want and they're not reliably consistent. Seems she should be planning around this rather than hope it's there when she's on stage. 21 hours ago, killer_rose said: She sounds good in some parts. Too many things over the years we've seen where she's made that same struggle face. First time I saw it was around her debut where she approach a note wrong and for the rest of the song, you could see she injured something. It's only gotten more frequent as the years have gone by. I need to find that video because it was the first time I saw how delicate her voice seems to be when it just --woop!-- straight up stopped working in the middle of her singing live. 20 hours ago, suburbannature said: Imagine her on a song like this A few months ago I was obsessed with the idea of wondering what a prime Mariah version of Love Will Lead You Back by Taylor Dane would sound like.
