Daydream Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Going from VOL to Loverboy in the space of a decade is still the wildest transition the music industry has ever seen.

Mandalay Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I swear this is the best live duet on stage EVER. Imagine being in the audience for this. Was it in 1994?

After that revelation she must be considered the queen of reinvention. It's not her fault that her record company stopped the release. She's the most versatile: POP R&B AC Latin Tropical Rock Grunge Gospel Jazz Hip Hop I love when some people (Madonna stans who hate Mimi) claim she only ever sang about Love. Well, Madge's songs are about sex 99% of the time.
Daydream Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 People who says Mariah only sings about one topic (love) are plain dumb. Whilst she does have many songs about that topic she still covers plenty of other things. Faith/her relationship with God - Vision Of Love, Heavenly, Fly Like A Bird, I Pray, When You Believe Identity and racial ambiguity - Looking In, Portrait, Outside, In The Mix Family/her childhood - Petals, Sunflowers for Alfred Roy, Reflections, Supernatural, Close My Eyes Abuse - Side Effects Death - One Sweet Day, Bye Bye Friendship - I'll Be There, Anytime You Need A Friend, Thank God I Found You (to an extent) Patriotism - Bring It On Home, America The Beautiful Keeping her foot on J.Lo's/Eminem's neck - Heat, Obsessed, Clown Inspirational - Triumphant, Can't Take That Away, Meteorite, Through the Rain, Hero, Save The Day

suburbannature Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 This obviously isn't perfect, but it's sad to see how much her voice has declined even since 2016. She's really convinced it's back It definitely sounds better in some areas like agility and clarity, but she lost a lot of ease in upper belts and her overall technique is getting worse.

Currentriah would never be able to give us this serve: Also her voice is truly over if she doesn't change something fundamental like alcohol, vocal surgery, professional singing lessons etc.
suburbannature Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Dream next era is that she serves qualitea with an 11-track concept album co-produced with Blood Orange. It's moodier, darker and looks at the dark side of fame and she spares us the WBT reduxes/melodyne/unnecessary vocal theatrics. She serves Kelela r&b. She has a mini-comeback with a collab that goes top five/#1 and the album scans 2x platinum. She is nominated for AOTY and wins a cute R&B grammy. A final hurrah and people momentarily forget her cosplaying Ms. Claus.
