I really hope she can profit off the Halloween themes if it's a darker song and is released this week. Bloody Mary and Judas remain popular on social media and I can see the GP being like "Gaga releases another Halloween hit" if it's good

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. I'm just not sure they will be able to make it a Halloween hit so quickly, specially if it's coming on 10/25. I love the idea of those Gagaween listening parties to promote the single, but I don't think her legion of gays alone will be able to make it reach a big peak + GP recognition that fast.

I can't wait for Gaga's inevitable "I have to laugh" moment when someone asks her about Joker in five years

She's not going to get any razzies since her acting performance is getting praise everywhere. Idky anyone would think she would win one...

Reminder that Glenn Close got both Razzie and Oscar nominations for the same performance...

And J.law got a razzie *nomination for her excellent performance in Mother! :rip:

Does it matter? If it did, it's probably #197

I really think the announcement is tomorrow or Wednesday, and of course both days are insane at work for me. I'll miss out on the countdowns and fun. :monkey:

Yes but not for the same film. Gar didn't get nominated for HOG cuz that film is not that bad for GP and it was a really well-acclaimed performance. I could easily see she and J**quin both snatch their razzie noms next year. :chick3:

FÁD has more cinematic worth than other recent mega bombs like Borderlands / The Marvels. I would rather see her bombing in a swing of a $200m character study movie aimed at adults that looks and feels that money and care was spent on it with debate coming down to story than something CGI filled, where acting comes down to being avatars with quips rather than performance and being ultimately throwaway and meant for nothing more than four quadrant entertainment and failing at doing that anyway.

It just adds to the list of divisive moments that hit the cultural nerve that Gaga has always been about. She wins big and loses big because of it; I still think the movie will find a more balanced take in time once the backlash has died down.

The problem anyway is not that this movie bombed but that Gaga should have more roles in the pipeline to balance out creative risks. She finished filming this 18 months ago.

unfortunately i don't see a film coming anytime soon :emofish: she's going to be very busy music wise at least the next year me thinks

Spilled big time

also, I agree, the gaps between roles is too much. Easily could've filmed something else to come out in 2025.

Damn we keep losing, uh?

Anyways, I wonder how the lead will perform. I'm sure she is gonna release something great this time (both video + song), so as long as I enjoy it, I don't mind if it goes the Harley way. I'm just genuinely curious to know how GP will react this time. In one side, she has the biggest song in the world right now, Gagaween is her time and Chroma debuts were all good (even if everything in that era free fall later). On the other, Harley numbers make me wonder how big her fanbase still is (and if GP does care about new Gaga music at all) + she just got one of the biggest movie bombs ever.

LG6.5, the secret project, the Harley concept album being revealed to be Gaga's third collection of traditional pop covers — covers of covers from an increasingly  disparaged jukebox musical — instead of genre experimentation with original material after months of studio teasing, killed its momentum with fans and the limited pre-order window didn't really leave enough time to compensate.

Happy Mistake buried in the track list and given a top tier televised performance could only do so much to engage the casuals when everything surrounding the movie was glowing radioactive.

The interest will naturally be higher for the lead among her core base, even those who have fallen by the wayside over the years and weren't coming back for jazz, and I think there may be added curiosity from the public as well to see what she has up her sleeve after FÁD. Controversy sells too.

TBH, i think maybe Gar didn't get some good enough scripts though. Hollywood is very snobby, she got well acclaimed and huge support  for ASIB because they think it was a just a nice and casual crossover performance. When Gar turns out to be a serious actress, they turned around because it affected their interests.

I really wish I could see Gar starring in some independent art films but I don't think those directors would choose her (high remuneration and different acting style). Quentin and Spielberg are good fits for Gar though.

Yeah me too, it's a shame she let FAD be so much of a creative sink for her; I just hope even with LG7 next year we get some kind of news on what she wants to do next acting wise.

it's so weird how gár dedicates so much of her time to shoot one single movie, no matter how demanding it is

and don't even start with harlequin cuz that didn't even take a week to be recorded lbr

The script isn't why this film bombed, sorta.

As long as the script keeps the theme of destructing Joker, no matter how perfect the script it is with doing that, it would bomb, maybe not to this degree but still would bomb.

The truth is the idea is not matching the expectation of fans of the franchise, the character and the first film, that's the core reason why it bombed.

Giving how the first Joker was drastically different from other comic movies, it's basically an art house film, maybe they think they can get away with doing it again. But they took it too far.

The script in Gaga's eyes, probably is very good in a literature view point, but it's horrible commercially and marketing wise. I think she needs a consultant for her to review her script picks, but I doubt it can happen, that's why every actor has flops, they sometimes just aren't in touch with the business and market perspective.

You had no idea how music production works, especially in harlequin with dozens of live instruments involved.

Also she took 3 months to shoot the movie, it wasn't even that much time. She just didn't do anything after it unlike most actors with only acting jobs. Let's not act like she spent the last two years solely on the movie.
