Million Reasons is amazing, so that alone made Joanne worth it. Obviously, I wish the era had more to it (especially with visuals), but without Joanne, we would've never gotten ASIB. And ASIB is obviously a career peak for her (that'll likely lead into her next peak, being JFAD/DWAS/LG7 combination if LG7 doesn't bomb.)

Thats not shade to Chromatica. It did OK, but wasn't a repeak. Average is fine sometimes too, though.

Careers are long and winding. Just like for any of us, you never know what doors will open from your latest effort and many things are steps to the next bigger phase.

The way she was teasing "Deep Blue" in the Joanne booklet, the Making Of videos, her website and no one remembers it but she mentioned Frankensteined backstage once and we've been begging for it ever since.

The fact it's outstreaming a #1 Ariana collab as well. The power of a Gaga BALLAD is continually downplayed

crazy how she went from being the pop girl with zero smash ballads to:

#4 Million Reasons

#1 Shallow

#1 DWAS :eli:

and Always Remember Us This Way + I'll Never Love Again being streaming smashes

DWAS is already my most streamed song from the last 365 days with 165 plays. Second is Down Bad by Taylor with 74 :dies: Pretty sure Training Season is between them but my last.fm is an ODLH.

Anyways cant wait for Notorious Being to top that in like a week :cm:

yup, the whole image and sound shift from Joanne is the reason she's a respected artist and a total legend now. she met Mark Ronson with that album and Bradley probably also saw her potential for ASIB because of the Joanne era/Oscars performances

Joanne fixed every single mess that ARTPOP made even though Joanne is her floppest flop yet

I personally don't think ARTPOP caused any mess. The media and the general public had already decided to hate Gaga, and that started with Judas.

It was strange because people liked the music, but her image was seen as 'too much.' That's why Katy Perry succeeded at the time—she had a cleaner, more approachable image.

I don't think Joanne should be credited with 'saving' her career. It was something necessary for 'A Star Is Born' to happen, but the real thing that saved her career and image was Tony Bennett, not Joanne.

Unfortunately, Joanne lacks musical and thematic coherence. She tried to present it as a country album, but it wasn't really country. She tried to make it seem relatable and personal, but it's actually her least personal album. She was clearly still recovering from what she went through during the ARTPOP era. Apart from a few standout tracks, the album doesn't quite measure up to her other work. But this is just my opinion, and we can agree to disagree if you think Joanne is her best album

dd I think Tony album, Oscars performance & Joanne were all the reason for ASIB aka her repeak

and I dont think Joanne is her best album :rip: its a good album and gets treated like its unlisteanable because its completely different from all her albums.

the ARTPOP mess i'm talking about was the you know who collab, the whole roar vs applause thing, katy outcharting gaga, miley overshadowing gaga at the vmas, the puking on her incident and more sksksks people got tired of her "antics" in the ARTPOP era and the tony album, sound of music oscars performance + Joanne album, Super Bowl performance, 5000000 Million Reasons performances ( :rip: ) and Coachella headlining gig, she was finally seen as a different artist and has been taken "more" seriously by the gp. everyone saw the weird crazy popstar actually had raw talent to back everything up

The anime fans BEEN stanning Gaga this decade - I'm sure they'll give a lot of attention to LG7, especially if it's cvnty bops they can edit their favourite characters slaying it

Oh, yeah, when you put it that way, I totally agree with you. Joanne was a fresh start for her, and she used that opportunity to showcase her ability to sing, play the piano, and more. (And it still blows my mind that people actually thought she couldn't sing :rip:)

I thought you meant that musically Joanne saved her career, I misunderstood you sorry babe

Girlies, can we appreciate the current moment we're living in?

Gaga is in the top 10 most streamed artists of the world with a singular song that's an instant smash hit all while her electro pop singles are whacking A Star is Born.

It all feels unreal.

:jonny3:

EDIT: As a longtime stan, I legit never thought she could top A Star is Born. I'm scared of her power.

I never felt right about him after his nonstop Gaga wasn't my top choice tour. I can't imagine that felt good for her, but she's a class act and would never say such.
