Then what? Well yeah ofc those eras had more but they were also artists in much earlier stages of their career's than Gaga so obviously Dua on her 2nd album and Harry on his 3rd are going to do more to promote it, so it's not really comparable. Also Harry's House came out in 2022 when the world was in a completely different place than during 2020 at the height of the pandemic

Okay then, Kylie who was in the 4th decade of her career was promoting Disco literally the old-fashioned way. We could go back and forth for pages, there doesn't have to be an excuse for everything she does and doesn't do imo. But clock my tea at Harry's House umm 1
BlondUnicorn Posted April 1 Posted April 1 No shade because I like Bey, but I really hope this kind of autoplay/payola kicks in for one of Gaga's classics when she releases new music

Gaga never really had that issue since she didn't do any platform exclusives over the years.

But clock my tea at Harry's House umm I'm not disputing that Gaga did less than other stars, I'm just pointing out that she didn't do literally nothing which is what is often said. And most of the other artists who were heavily promoting their albums during the pandemic were newer and less established stars, with a few exceptions like The Weeknd (who really didn't actually do that much promo if we are being honest, it's just that his era smashed hard so it seemed like he was everywhere). If any major established star was really going all out with their album promo during that time it was Miley, albeit that was slightly later during late 2020/early 2021. Truthfully though, I think Gaga pulling back from the era probably had less to do with the pandemic and more to do with the fact that we've since kind of learned that she wasn't in a good place at all during that era and I just think promoting her album wasn't a priority. 1
JohnWayneHolland Posted April 1 Posted April 1 When she announces the A Joker Is Born Ball Tour, a tour featuring songs from ASIB and Joker, with Bradley and Joaquin as special guests 2

Must be some sort of autoplay/new algorithm. It's been happening with other artists too

Idk sis, I think it comes up more often because the Chromatica era is used to vent frustration about having to wait for LG7 now or that she's doing jazz shows or whatever else is pissing people off and it's not really a lie to say that most artists on Gaga's level aren't promoting and making visuals in the same way they used to, it's actually a fact
Janet Posted April 1 Posted April 1 20 minutes ago, hausofbryan said: I have a feeling a lot of the black looks lately are a hint at the Joker campaign, not just for LG7. She'll probably have a darker vibe for all of the red carpet looks, and it gives her a way to channel that without seeming overly "goofy" and unserious. (As much as I'd love that side of her again.) Don't think she's going to be "hinting" at the joker release era at all lol. It's definitely just for the LG7 hype. She likes to switch it up quite dramatically to mark different eras - we'll know when she's in Joker press mode and out of LG7 mode
Bad News Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Need her to replace the ancient Chroma Ball pfp with a picture of her as Harley Quinn

Which is what we've been saying for years. It wasn't her priority and she wasn't in a good place. So yes she gets dragged for that regardless of the reasons provided, the result is still the same and she looks like the odd one out compared to the rest of the industry which was still doing promo and engaging with fans. We hadn't gotten a full-on pop era since ARTPOP, which was a complete mess, and when she had the opportunity to give us another one, she dropped the album and vanished outside of her few contractual obligations. Obviously people were let down, and now she's almost 40, with a partner who makes her happy, and has a full on company to run. Her relevance as a musician could fade if she continues to treat her music career as something she tends to from time to time. If she's fine with that, then we'll need to be as well, but it still sucks.
fossora Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Im so excited about the Joker trailer that we are finally getting this month….OGHs should be afraid, she's gonna be on everybody's mouth when it drops
H34rtOfCharcoal Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) The irony is what will be remembered is that Gaga delayed and then "abandoned" the era. Not even the black community knows (or cares) about her online activism during the George Floyd protests, nor does anyone remember or care about the Together At Home thingie. It's not that we think she shouldn't or don't want her to, it's that the constant expectation placed on her to deliver some BTW-level campaign in this day and age is unfair for multiple reasons. Some people in this fanbase need to come to terms and move on. And I say that as someone who would love to see her do one more huge era. Edited April 1 by EnigmaticAndroid 2
