Foreigner Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Just now, Jack! said: I don't think she's been seen (or even been trying to be seen) as a provocative artist for years. And she's done that thing before in the past where she's given credence to the media and it hasn't exactly worked in her favour so why would she now? That's why music wise she is a legacy now., because she doesn't spark conversation around limits anymore. Clothing department isn't shocking anymore and that's why her fans found chromatica a snoozefest. 11
CoolNebraskaGuy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 37 minutes ago, Foreigner said: Once in a while I have questioned myself why I had no interest in her last releases and I came to my mind when I was reading that she changed BTW lyrics during a recent performance. The answer: there's just no contesting. An artist, who doesn't want to fight for his work or to challange the status quo, isn't needed. Now I get why Lady Gaga it's not considered a vanguard artist anymore. She's afraid to take criticism and doesn't want the anger of her fans. A very much person used to what evangelical america thinks of her to the point that she even changes the tone when approaching them. Taylor Swift is more provocative when taking risks in her lyrics and attacking anyone or depicting the world with her storytelling. Lana Del Rey portrayals herself as the american ***** poet. Ariana cross the line telling a man to break with his girlfriend just to stay with her. These artists are not relatable as some might think. They put their lives into song lyrics and people sure are interested in gossips at best when they sing in a poetic way. Ups and downs, irony, happiness, ressentment and political nuances, all of that is there. What about Gaga? The same dance music and weird fashion from 2010's. It's a common place, it doesn't contest, it takes things as they are and it tries to conform not only to the way of the world, but also to the vision which the world has from her. What about the message? Aesthetics is important, but it isn't everything. When she debuted, the message was "I can be just weird as this clothes I wear" and now the current way of thinking, at least from a leftist point of view, is "I'm so ****ing weird that languange, thoughts and the world has to addapt to me". And guess what? The world has addapted to her weirdness. All I coud hear in chromatica was she crying because some upsets in her life with generic lyrics and a dance beat. 911 its a scratch to the rip apart that it would be, if she released herself as a whole. I miss sarcasm and irony. Enough with self-pity. Seriously, you have ask yourselves what did she wanted to achieve with chromatica?

lgaga1fan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I don't think the appeal of Lady Gaga has ever been her personability and if you go into her music looking for that you'd be sorely disappointed (sans Joanne I guess)

How she literally puts her 110% in everything. People point to her HoG campaign as being cringe, but I loved it because it was full Gaga. Gaga getting drunk off of prop wine? Yes, because she's literally the embodiment of 100 theater gays wrapped into a 5'2 MGP frame. Maybe thats why her fanbase is so gay Edited February 12 by Tovitov 1

Foreigner Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Taylor began Midnights era telling everyone that its lyrics was all about sleepless nights and everyone was anticipating the reasons to it. Lana tells in her lyrics that she fights her mom and reality show is settled. 14
Tovitov Posted February 12 Posted February 12 If I went into the Taylor Swift base and said the reason I don't stan her is because she doesn't wear enough stiletto hooker boots, do you think I'd get banned? 2

Summer Boy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Still so disappointed Gaga blocked the release of this song. It's such a great tune, could've been a cute hit back then, and, above all, a gay classic. 1

Angel Down talked about the murder of Trayvon Martin and Chromatica talked about her mental health, but yeah she needs to date a football player and have dumb feuds. 3

killer_rose Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Why is this Tayble stan in here trying to drag Gaga? Taylor being more controversial and risk-taker than Gaga?
dawnettakins Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) There's really a double standard on this cursed site for the insufferable Taylor swift and her even more insufferable stans. Definitely rooting for whatever team Gaga is behind and whichever is AGAINST those delusional, rabid clowns. Edited February 12 by dawnettakins 2
