Her timing needs to be perfect and considering Billie / Doja / Olivia might release first half of 2023 I’d be okay with Dua waiting till Q3/Q4

I think she'll be fine as long as they don't release albums on the same day plus some competition would make things a little more interesting

Billie and Olivia would debut higher, but our girl ALWAYS serves longevity. The ammount of last laughs we've had... a hiccup-ridden fanbase!

Dua is the longevity queen but I would love it if she were to debut at No.1 this time so she needs to have no competition in ha debut week

Billboard Hot 100:

#25 - Cold Heart

#27 - Sweetest Pie

#87 - Potion

Cold Heart and Sweetest Pie still in the top 30 :clap3: I never thought CH would become such a smash and Sweetest Pie is actually doing well in the US. Potion was OUT in the predictions thread but turns out it's still charting, I don't really care for it but I wouldn't mind it being a hit

OT: I think Q2 2023 would be a perfect time to release the album, I hope the gap between the lead and album are shorter than it was with FN

I can't wait to experience her next era as a full stan, I was just a casual fan for the past ones but now she got me in the fanbase

What do you think she will do sound-wise? I feel like it will be more chill compared to Future Nostalgia, I can see it being more on the Pretty Please/We're Good/Potion side. I've been loving Potion so much it deserves to be #1 for 10 weeks :katie:

Welcome! I have no clue what she'll do, but I'd love for her to go in the vein of the mid-00s Timbaland sound (Loose, FS/LS). I remember this was something a lot of people in the base wanted last year.

Also, yas at the Potion stanning. :clap3: A sophisticated BOP.

All I know is that living through the entire FN era as a longtime stan was an EXPERIENCE :jonny: It was so fulfilling to see her break every single myth people made up about her. One hit wonder? Gone. Bad performer? Vanished. Music with no personality? Goodbye. US nonfactor? Adieu. Couldn’t translate streaming numbers to ticket sales? Farewell!

As a fanbase we were truly shocked by the level of music and performance quality the era gave us, I truly hope you get to experience the same with DL3

I remember the album cover leaking (cause ofcourse it did) and everyone was gagged, I knew it would be an iconic album from that moment on :jonny2:

I'm worried the new team revamp will make the new album campaign not as good. Future Nostalgia was literally handled FLAWLESSLY (except for them not pushing Levitating the week it was close to going number 1 until the last 3 days which resulted in us losing by like 1% + allowing Billboard's sabotage :'( ). But yeah...like do we think the new team will help with guaranteeing multiple singles, some exclusive singles in various markets etc...that strategy was marvelous. I doubt DL3 will get that level of a push and content :'(

----------------------

DL3 needs to have a Loose era type of sound. As in a mix of urban pop with Albanian infused folk songs for the album tracks just like Nelly did urban pop and Portuguese infused folk tracks. That would be the PERFECT blend of experimental and commercial and a great sound to pursue. I know we have all been scared of her going urban pop after the results of Demeanor and Sweetest Pie but Loose's sound was a lot more interesting and it translated to addictive tracks that smashed. She can pull it off. She is a Nelly Furtado super stan after all :gaycat4:

tbh the loose / urban era should be reserved for her 30s. (but from what we've heard so far even from leaks, i don't know if she'll be able to pull it off) i feel like we're still missing more dance pop from her. she kind of missed that step in between debut to the massive switch-up that was FN. like, idk bring back eurodance or something lol.

Really? I thought the transition was very smooth. She did plenty of Eurodance with DL1 (HTH, NR, OK, Electricity) and then it was all disco-pop for FN. She kind of mixed the two with Cold Heart which was really nice

I feel like she'll move away from dance/disco with DL3 and go full on Pop with maybe R&B or Funk influences

I think we give her former team too much credit for that? Ben was her manager which meant that he was getting her into places and onto stages which was really important at the start of her career, but at this point she's Dua Lipa the A-list singer. She can get in anywhere she wants, no one is going to say no to her.

The long era's and promo and budget is mostly her + Warner, and both those parties are still in the mix so I actually don't think DL3 will be that different from DL1 and FN, I expect another long era with lots of promo. Warner has also paid attention these last few years and they know what works for her and what not, her former A&R Joe is also the president now, so his presence alone should guarantee that she's not going to slack. And all this is just on top of the fact that Dua is ambitious as ****
