Summer Renaissance: OUT

Two of my favorite tracks off Renaissance is truly resonating with the GP... I truly can't wait to see the visuals for both tracks.

AHAP is the dark horse on this album

This tea. It grew on me yesterday in a major way… definitely one of the favourites. It’s an earthworm

She doesn’t, but that would be a nice win in itself since most, almost all of her wins are limited to the R&B category.

I can see Renaissance winning AOTY tho. I feel the scammys can only use the clout of snubbing her in that category so much, they shadily knew what they were doing when they snubbed her, but this time around they may feel more obligated to hand her the win because she’s moving deeper into her 40s and won’t be their bread and butter that much longer (performance wise). They were able to push thru the racist accusations, but to snub a 40+ year old veteran who made an album for the girls, gays and theys? Thats a lot of strikes and they’ll lose the last crumb of credibility they even had left if they did. Especially if she is lined up to perform, that’s the bread and butter they need to bring back ratings and it would be very callous of them to snub her a third time in a row after she inevitably brings down the house.

I'm glad you addressed this possibility. I honestly feel like Renaissance will be her long-awaited AOTY Grammy for many of the factors you've listed.. idk, but I just feel like they'll get it right this time (I did read they have a Black Collective committee which helped with last year's winners).. but, I don't put anything against the Frammy's.

She loves to tour, she’s a showgirl at heart, she lives for the whole project coming to life, the costumes, the sets, filming it and so on.

I don’t doubt she still enjoys performing, but she’s also never toured while being a mother of 3 school aged kids before. Maybe she’ll eye a Vegas residency…

The greatest living entertainer not touring? I can see a summer stadium tour so the kids can accompany her.

Let’s hope. But then again if it’s a summer tour, we’d have to wait a whole year for that….

That too. They scrapped their anonymous voting committee and added seasoning to it as collateral. Their ratings have been abysmal since 2017.

Im generally indifferent towards this, but I would love to see the kind of demand and revenue it gets compared to other residencies just to gloat about it :gaycat: It would also give me a reason to visit Vegas for once.

stadium tour is shortest tour out there with highest gross. she won't do vegas. lol

I’m just hoping and hoping and praying I get to see her live again :dancehall:

After sitting with the album for almost a week (yes, I listened to the l-word version :fan:), here’s how I would pare down the album for a truly “skipless” experience:

  1. Alien Superstar
  2. Cuff It
  3. Energy
  4. Break My Soul
  5. Plastic Off the Sofa
  6. Virgo’s Groove
  7. Heated
  8. America Has a Problem
  9. Pure/Honey
  10. Summer Renaissance

Tried to get as close to 9 tracks as possible to match Thriller. :gaynetcat2:

PITCHFORK delivered and those who called me crazy saying it's her best will soon have to align

I really really do not want a Residency, idc if Adele is doing one it's still for retired/predictable/ nostalgia acts....I need a stadium tour, a big daring stadium tour à la FWT.

I think a Best Dance Recording for Break my Soul would be nice.  This year has been very light on dance music so she has a good chance of winning. Correct me if I’m wrong but I dont think she has that genre in her Grammy collection

I don’t think they’ve nominated a solo popgirl single for Best Dance in over a decade now? That category is all about DJs/producers now

You're pretty accurate. I remember the days when pop girls who did dance music could submit and be nominated in that category (for some.. it was their best chance of winning) but as of lately, it hasn't been looking like that.

Saw someone say Rennie is ST without the corny ballads and I am weeping at the accuracy

I am really looking forward to the pitchfork review. They are not afraid to give her the flowers she deserves for her excellent work. I could see this album scoring close to a 9.

The way this came true ???

Yall need to stop with the vegas non sense every era:ace: she will tour.

I could imagine b8 exploring self reflection and soul searching in solitarily. Where rennie is saturated with sound, I imagine the counterpart will be largely stripped down production wise, vocally still dynamic (because duh) and much more meditative/reflective lyrically
