I hope the video - if it exists - is groundbreaking. There hasn't been a great video in too long. All of this Dave Meyers CGI absurdity is going to look so dated and its all so boring/uninspired.

Agreed! I love his work from the 00´s (Missy Elliott, J-Lo, Jay Z, Aaliyah, Brandy etc.) and what he did with Kendrick, but the rest has been some incoherent CGI heavy videos and I doubt they will age well

i hope Bey will bring back some storytelling to the table than just pretty images. Another reason why I love BIK and Lem

Do y'all think she thought BIK would be huge?

I think she thought it would make more noise than it did.

Both Lemonade and BIK have loads of CGI. Formation alone was a whole ass movie. Nothing wrong with CGI when it’s not rushed like a Marvel movie

True, that’s exactly what I dislike with Dave Meyers latest work. It’s rushed like a MCU movie

I think when it was filmed the intent was for it to be a big Disney+ thing, but so much was happening with the app at the time. Also, Im leaning more towards a legacy moment that big right away because she knows the title alone is controversial, "Black Is King" that on DIsney+ is not being clicked by white parents or audiences.

She's playing the long game and making legacy moves like MJ did once he reached a certain status.

Remember this?

Michael Jackson's Ghosts is a 1996 short film starring Michael Jackson, directed by Stan Winston, and written by Stephen King and Mick Garris. It is based on a story by Garris, Jackson and the horror writer Stephen King.

Ghosts tells the story of an eccentric man with supernatural powers being forced out of a small town by its judgmental mayor. Jackson plays five roles, and performs dance routines set to the songs "2 Bad", "Is It Scary" and "Ghosts", taken from his albums HIStory (1995) and Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix (1997).

I think it was a passion project & she was thinking in terms of legacy...when people revisit her work generations from now...she'll have substantive moments like this & not just pop songs.

I agree with all of this.

I love that her passion pushes her to do things despite the success it may have.

They're putting Renaissance posters up in China. Did she even bother promoting Lemonade there?

I was gonna post that

I’m surprised they are since they’re typically so conservative regarding body exposure like that.

Do we know whether Bey is a McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, or Chick Fil A girl? Research purposes.

The projections of 30 did create hype but a picture of Adele would’ve been better imo

This is probably about the 28 page album booklet.

Things have really slowed down in here, but I know it's gonna get wild again soon, Beyoncé has done her most traditional album rollout yet, while still keeping us on our toes. :rip:

We're gonna be scalped in less than 2 weeks. :jonnycat: I've come to terms with whatever happens.. happens, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride. It's literally a Beyoncé event that happens thrice in a decade.
