I wish she would have remixed it and did a mash up with more vocals and ad libs. I also feel as though the performance of the song was a bit mid. She could've done more for it imo. 20 minutes ago, Kalmanta said: she looks so good and is it just me or did she get slimmer again? She was more on the curvier side for GQ. It's the plaid and the jacket. She's still THIQUE but the clothes are helping her look slimmer. I'm just trying to figure out when is she going to retire this blonde wig? Bring on BlackHairYonce for ACT III. 2

Matchatea Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I can't believe she scrapped the visuals and we haven't even seen the light day…. Why would she scrap it…. She such a perfectionist I am sure it was fine…

Burn Posted October 8 Posted October 8 How many tracks do yall want act iii to be? Do we want a short Lemonade type of album or another CC length? Or somewhere in the middle like Rennie? I'd be ok with anywhere between 14-16 tracks.
mons†er Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I want 18 songs with 4 being covers. Preferably 'Maybe' by Janis Joplin, 'Piece Of My Heart' by Big Brother & Janis, 'River Deep, Mountain High' and 'Black Cat' by Janet Jackson. Im a SUCKER for when Beyonce growls and just lets loose vocally which is why I want a Janis Joplin cover so bad. I just know she would unleash so much emotion. 2

Life, the industry, and specifically the Grammys are random/odd/unfair like that. (I briefly suspended logic come Rennie because of how monumental the moment was, but got humbled real quick). So, by that logic, CC actually tick-boxes all the criteria. At the same time, between the staunch naysayers, the Country industry/voters' lack of embrace, and the tough competition, it giving another snub. Still, never say never. I don't particularly care "that" much at this point, but she keeps submitting so it's going to keep being a "thing". I actually think if she promoted her albums post IASF more, she probably could've won AOTY already. IASF was her most successful Grammy night and that's because she and her music was everywhere that era. You had to be in a coma to not know Single Ladies or it's video or see her perform. 1

It just lacks Beyoncé trying to do something to win it. But tbh, she seemed at peace with losing back in 2023 so I don't think she really cares anymore. She obviously still wants to win otherwise she wouldn't keep showing up. She'd just snub them entirely. Grammys have always meant alot to her. I remember when Destinys Child won their first Grammy she was so happy and seemed to be crying.

But no, it's her just getting all wet and heated 1

No. She keeps showing up because she is the most awarded and nominated individual in Grammy's history. If she stops submitting, everyone will take their chance to call her ungrateful and to say she thinks of herself like a goddess, like they always do. 1

You should only listen to that album if you're taking a nap. 2 hours ago, Redporus said: Sonically Lemonade can be hit or miss compared to ST and BIK Yup I said it so her MAGNUM OPUS has some haters within the basé. big whoop. I prefer Lemonade over BIK for sure, it's underrated but not a top tier album in her discography. and visually BIK is much more BOORIIIING to me. great gowns, beautiful gowns (in Africa). self-titled is more debatable. neither of them are as sonically consistent as RENAISSANCE (my fav album). visually, I prefer Lemonade because it really feels like a movie. it's easier to watch the self-titled videos in isolation but when I'm in the mood, Lemonade hits in its entirety. 5

If she stops submitting, everyone will take their chance to call her ungrateful and to say she thinks of herself like a goddess, like they always do. I think her continued submissions are more a flex to keep extending her status as most awarded / nominated. If she stops, she'll eventually be eclipsed by some of her peers who are already outselling ala Taylor. There's also the angle of giving hope of Grammy wins to her project contributors. Beyond the prestige of working with her, they're further incentivised to deliver their best work in hope of nabbing awards. All that said… Given how much everyone knows she's overdue for AOTY, I don't think many would scoff at her for stopping submitting. Granted we'd all know it'd be because of the snubs, she'd actually be well placed to stop submitting now aka at the exact point she became most awarded. Top line, it would give the illusion of waving farewell after reaching the mountain top - which is actually great PR. She could be seen as further diving into her Prince bag of not being defined by sales or awards and kinda entering that megastar level of basically being "above" all of that. In reality, those that "know" would clock that it's simply due to the snubs lol. In any case, she'll keep submitting and I just hope it one day pays off. I personally don't even count her "most awarded" wins thing seriously as the semantics of those wins not including next to any general field wins is deeply unsettling. The key take away being: you're good enough to win in "your" lane (R&B) but when stacked up against your (mostly Caucasian) peers (in general field), you don't meet the mark. Ever. It's a huge slap in the face and says so much.

I understand not being defined by sales, but getting awards is part of Beyoncé's personality to the public, and she's given them importance for so long that there's no way to turn that back without looking a complete fool.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Because while getting all those awards has undoubtedly contributed to Beyonce's status today, the MJ's of the world are still considered to be on the loftiest level of celebrity (and higher than Bey) with just 13 Grammys to his name. Of course, he came up at a different time and with different circumstances, but it goes to show that come a certain a point legacy and positioning outpace awards for the top artists (which is what Bey is). At this point in Bey's career, Grammy wins are "nice" but are in no way definitive of anything. New wins feel decorative rather than definitive. From a PR / brand enhancement perspective, she's squeezed all she can from the Grammy well (outside of AOTY and even then they look dumb and out of touch for not giving it to her vs her lacking in any way because of her not winning). So, while she's given it importance in the past, she has several easy "outs" to not attach as much importance to it...now. And IMO, the same Bey is making clear that she's redefining a lot about her brand in the here and now. From doing away with perfection to saying no to opportunities to not overextending herself promo-wise. Veering away from seeking Grammy approval (though not something she seems ready to do just yet) feels like a natural next step if they keep playing in her face. And is a step I don't see her getting ANY backlash for. Edited October 8 by Cbreezy 1

I'm not saying she can't, given the speed with which she's churning out her mediocre albums, but I highly doubt this. That girl has won more than 2 Grammys in one night only once, when she won 3 during 1989. Her categories are much more limited and she's not a Grammy darling when it comes to her songs individually. The last time Grammys awarded a song award to her was in 2013, it was for "Best Song Written for Visual Media" for the Hunger Games song she did You're right that she's creeping up on Bey, but I'm not too worried. For comparison, Bey swept up 4 awards for RENAISSANCE even though she didn't win the big one. That's better numbers-wise than the blond girl's best night. 3

I'm just saying that doing the not submitting gimmick to prove a point, and throwing a speech around it about "not being defined by awards" will just make her look like a bitter fool. Like it did for Drake or Zach Bryan. She's doing it her way: appearing mid ceremony without doing a red carpet, not performing and now, undersubmitting. She doesn't look ungrateful but she doesn't entirely play their game either.
Shelter Posted October 8 Posted October 8 It needed to be done, they can't let that crazy go on a press tour like that. Hopefully they go after everyone.
