If she's pushing Freedom, it's because of the election

Definitely. It's just a waste of time imo, if the streams were exploding that would make sense but it isnt.

it doesn't take ANY energy to send a song to radio lol

also Beyoncé is more concerned with her legacy than anything else. having a song associated with the first black female president AND the first black male president is good for the history books. she loves that sh*t.

then she should've sent kamala yaya instead, which would at least promote her recent album instead of a decade old song that isn't really making any noise or seeing a big resurgence in streams :rip:

i don't think this will add much to her legacy if anything and if she's that concerned about her legacy she should maybe do actually useful stuff like not ignoring every new album she releases :suburban:

I was listening to CC (cd version) and it flows a lot better (sorry yaya). I get why she cut some seconds of the extended tracks, but she should have kept that version of 2H2H (riiverdance lil extended version is cute too) :gayoncecat3:

Kamala personally asked Beyoncé to use Freedom as her official campaign song. it's being used in ads that are currently running nationally and every time Kamala comes on stage at a rally. By the time november comes around it will be synonymous with the election. She's not going to send her a song she didn't ask for :rip:

she's not doing this to get a hit single. she doesn't care about that idk why that is a shock

Freedom is a better message :rip:

She's not trying to promote her album, she's trying to attach a song of hers to a historic moment lol

I don't mind Freedom getting a low-effort rerelease at all but it's yet another example of Neck moving for someone/something else and not her beleaguered fanbase

:suburban:

I just know she got this way because she wasn't invited to Oprah's Legends Ball so she's been hell-bent on LeGaCy ever since

to attach her name to a historic moment....are you being dense on purpose or????

people are hearing the song at rallies and in ads already, it has been playing during the Kamala battleground state tour all month and will absolutely be played at the DNC in a couple weeks. people will hear it on the radio and be like "oh this is for kamala".

commerical:

rallies:

that's literally it. not rocket science.

If she can send this to radio she could have easily sent another CC song as well.

She doesn't care about promoting her album. She has been radio-silent for months, no pun intended.

She's not sending freedom to radio to promote lemonade. It's to endorse Kamala.

in HER mind a watershed historic moment > a hit single.

i think it's pretty clear with how she was able to quickly push something when she wants that she simply doesn't want to send anymore CC songs. So sure she could send bodyguard but she doesn't want to do that.

all this yapping for a song that doesn't even have a confirmed radio release or an add date...

from what I can tell, it all spread from one tweet who got it from an "insider" on a different forum.

this is all as reliable as the "CHURCH GIRL" radio push that never happened. don't waste your breath keyboard clicks arguing about something that probably won't end up happening. I don't see any reason why she would push this old song to radio when it's not gaining enough momentum. no, it doesn't add to her "legacy" or "historic moment" -- radio has got nothing to do with it. she's already lent her song to the campaign. trying to make the song a "radio hit" would almost take away from its impact on the campaign trail, in my opinion.

And yet, the streams remain at 150k per day. Can it be historic when, quite frankly, no one gives a ****?

Guys can we be for real for a second.

Ya Ya would never have worked for a presidential campaign. It's far too focused lyrically on Beyonce as an individual and is honestly too anti-American. Freedom perfectly balances the metaphors with the refrain and is ultimately optimistic about the state of things.

As the official song of Kamala's race, Freedom will become synonymous with the anti-Trump message. Sure, it won't go number 1, but pushing it onto American radio will see the song basically act as an advert for Kamala. Everytime people hear it, they'll think of her, and she'll become inseparable from the message of the song...freedom.

It's not a waste of time to push the song to radio if you're effectively campaigning for Kamala whenever it gets played. This is bigger than CC. This is about western democracy lol.

They absolutely were sending Church Girl to radio though, it was listed on All Access :lmao:
