And what is the POINT OF releasing the best work of your career if NO ONE HEARS IT. SHe started a massive conversation and that is appreciated, we've already seen the people associated with the album have some incredible life changing success and exposure. Names have entered our psyche and Shaboozi's solo song is about to go top 5 on Hot 100 next week. That is amazing, but this music, like formation, is the most impressive in her discog and she once again is going to ignore it and treat is secondary to things like Cecred and Ivy Park. No....PEOPLE have heard it and love it. Step outside for a second. Those that want to know about the music know about it....those that do not want to know about it don't know about it. Please if the music isn't enough for you, simply go stan someone else. It is really that easy. But saying she should quit is highly insulting to her passion as a musical artist. 1
king_queen Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I don't like talking about the "R" word when it comes to Beyoncé but if she does that after act iii, I hope she's SCREAMING on this rock album. Go out with a mfing bang!!!! But I don't think she will. We still jazz, a cappella, classical and gospel from her. I don't think she's even close to done. At least I hope not
Machete Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Not to be that person but Shaboozey's song already went viral on TikTok when he posted the snippet of it before he was ever announced to be on Cowboy Carter. It had about 15K videos pre-release. And it's not like his songs on Cowboy Carter were standout moments/popular tracks where he got an audience (outside of Twitter Hive thirsting). So yeah it does feel kinda wrong in my opinion to credit his success right now to Bey. Of course, I've seen he himself post about being thankful to her so that's his prerogative (her call months ago asking him to be on the album probably inspired him as an artist and pushed him to keep going etc.), but this specific song was definitely going to be big whether or not he was on the album. 1
king_queen Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Question Which is the better 7-track run? I'm That Girl-Church Girl or Ya Ya-Sweet Honey Buckiin'???

CC absolutely helped launched his song. 15K videos on tik tok for a pre release is literally nothing. Ive seen countless popular songs on tik tok (mostly from indie artists) that goes no where once released. 2

It's not solely because of her but his name was in the spotlight because of her when he released. That is a fact. He was just very smart with the timing of his release + the right song as it is a very good song. She just made it easier for him. 3
Kristie Kuwa Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) Also theres in indirect effect going on: When Beyonce went #1 with THE as a black artist, topped the Country charts both with THE and the album, it showed that the world and especially the US are capable of embracing Black musicians in that genre. This open-mindedness further fueled the appreciation for Shaboozey Edited April 27 by Kristie Kuwa
ScorpiosGroove Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) as someone previously mentioned i think the worst part is the obvious lack of the "big masterplan" everyone swore would unfold… cause when you're two albums into a 3 act project and you STILL don't know anything, nothing's explained and nothing's happening either i think it's safe to admit that they have no clue what they're doing or simply don't care enough to do it right even if there's some big film to tie all of it together there's no reason to not release more singles and do more with the era you're in right now. and even a whole film won't make these eras any less botched anyways, it'll be a too little too late kinda situation… Edited April 27 by ScorpiosGroove 1
Blue Rose Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The album cover being shot in March is how I know there's no masterplan 1
Lose My Breath Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The album will cross 1 billion streams on Spotify in 1.5-2 weeks 2

The biggest hater in this thread. A paid mole! I can't wait for the media blitz when he hits #1 and every discussion is about Beyoncé. I know you will suffer. 3
Lose My Breath Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Anyone denying her effect on Shaboozeys career is wild 15k videos on TikTok is NOT viral 4
Lose My Breath Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) Anyway II HANDS II HEAVEN is picking up on TikTok, it'll pass Bodyguard soon in total videos, which is impressive considering it was one with some of the lowest numbers Streaming numbers are low though Edited April 27 by Lose My Breath 1
sillycilla Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I figured she wasn't going to hit 80m monthly listeners without a second single smash.

It could truly smash globally It could, but will it even be released or given proper treatment? It's the hold up of this album. That or Levii could be an irreplaceable type smash imo. Also Willie Jones was spotted at stagecoach wearing a Cowboy Carter "always been country" shirt. We will see if it means anything.

She wont do anything with it, it's apparent. It would have to hit on its own, which I doubt it will. My fingers are crossed for today!
PrettyHurts Posted April 27 Posted April 27 3 hours ago, Kristie Kuwa said: I mean truth be told: Bey is doing EXACTLY what she set out to do and wants to do - to use her platform and status as a means of service. She wants to push conversations (which she successfully does with each release), she wants to broaden the concept of what a popstar can do (which she successfully does) and she wants to erase stigma and institutionalized racism towards black musicians (which she successfully does). I am 100% convinced that Bey is smiling from one ear to the ear seeing Shaboozeys rise. That must feel so incredibly validating to her, so much more validating than her own success because it means she serves as a catalyst of change. To put it bluntly: Taylor can sell millions and generate billions of streams which are all incredible individual feats to her career, but when Beyonce becomes the reason Black Country artists are seeing huge success in a white-dominated genre that has been gatekeeping black musicians, that literally trumps all of Taylor's achievements. THAT is legacy. Why say this
kimberly Posted April 27 Posted April 27 not to be that person but... she really needs to drop some crisp 4K HD visuals for anything to really pick up at this point. now whether that's a lovely live performance with Miley, or a music video for Bodyguard, or LEVII'S JEANS performance with Post, that's up to her. the TikTok's and IG Reel's with her husband don't count. the Canva visualizer for II MOST WANTED doesn't, either. 2
drippinghoney Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I literally don't trust no soul who doesn't like Riiverdance like... 2

Nice try, mole
