The thing about her is that she's always did things last minute or did last minute changes. I remember one month before ST she's still shooting videos. But for some reason never once that she pushed back her album.

The dichotomy is interesting as she says BOLDLY it's the best music she's ever made and yet the critics reviews aren't aligning. Feels like bday era a bit. Lol

yeah. i think the reception is great considering all of the exhausting conversations surrounding the album, the fact that she's covering multiple iconic songs, and stepping into a new genre field. all that considered its being received very well

The more I listen to it the more a story forms in my head for the visuals.

American Requim, Blackbird - Intro titles and credits into first beep signaling the beginning of the story.

16 Carriages, Protector, My Rose - From the perspective of the characters parents.

Texas Hold 'Em, Bodyguard - Meeting and falling for someone.

Joelene, daughter - Someone tries it on and murder or almost murdered.

Spaghetti- On the run from home and law with partner.

Alligator Tears - Doing anything to keep partner happy.

Just for fun - Trying to cope with new life on the run.

ii most wanted - Being baddies and promising to always stick with each other.

Leviis Jean's - Delusional happiness or possibly a flashback to when were happy.

Flamenco - Partner either arrested or there is some sort ot betrayal.

Time jump

Ya Ya - Main character performing it in her new life.

oh Louisiana - Partner is back.

Desert Eagle - Hot steamy romp.

Riverdance - Realise that things are just like before with Partner and she feels trapped now with them.

2 hands 2 heaven - The realisation that things aren't right and need to change.

Tyrant - The big climax and getting rid of the partner.

Sweet Honey Buckin- The end montage of her going home etc. Leading to beep signaling the end of the film.

Amen - Credits.

That was a lot lol :rip:

Pitchfork gave an 8.4.. deserved better but we will take it

They criticized Bodyguard, Leviis Jeans and Jolene the most, which are ironically the songs with most single potential. Seeing how they love to be pretentious, this is not shocking. I would've appreciated a 8.7 more, but hey, its a good score similar to Lemonade. That means they understand and appreciate CC as an album that can be considered her magnus opus

I know the P4K thing wasn't really what ANYONE expected but I feel we are sounding a little TOO spoiled. While most stans and the general public expect mediocrity from a looottt of these mainstream artists, Beyoncé consistently delivers EVERYTIME beyond everyone's expectations and P4K has managed to see through the veil of ignoramous critics, and still maintained to really praise Bey time and time again. It should've been a 9, truthfully. But we really do need to consider this is with a genre she's NEVER done before (other than Daddy Lessons) and tied to to such a HIGH concept through great storytelling, and if any other female artist tried this it would fall FLAT, and P4K would be mooorrreee than happy to drag them through the mud. And mannyyy other critics too.

So yeah, I do feel we need to just bite the bullet tbh. 8.4 amazinggg, and is better than MOST discographies lmao! So let's just enjoy how amazinggg this album is. Genuinely think the general public is LOVING this even more than Rennie and it's being talked about EVERYWHERREEE! :deadbanana2:

Something that makes me really (!) Happy to see tho is the fact that the streams for all other Bey projects remained stable despite the CC drop. This was not the case during Rennie, so I believe this is a first sign of Bey building up her streaming power :clap3:

I wonder if she's holding off releasing the live album because it'll bleed streams from Rennie. Like, just imagine how many people are going to stop listening to COZY and listen to the live version instead. If she was super calculated about it, she'd release a live recording and a studio recording with the updated arrangements :fan: 3 versions of Rennie to choose from. I'd be in heaven.

It was exactly what I was expecting. P4K is very predictable.

There is not bullet to be beaten, it's a great score it's just dishonest. I mean it's not the first time they are wrong, Lemonade is not a 8.5.

I never expected an album with Blackbird and Jolene covers, a 27 track run, several 1 minute songs and interludes, Post Malone and Miley collabs and a political standing to get a 9+ from Pitchfork. All of those things make the album divisive by definition, and Pitchfork decides scores based on an average from all the staff's scores.

Yeah I think a loooottt of these critics are trying to make her "work" for these 10s given they don't want people thinking they just gave her the 10s because "she's Beyoncé". And since it's relatively a newer genre for her. If they did they may be scared of losing some sort of validity (when they won't lmao). But with these critics I'm getting this weeirrddd feeling that Beyonce raises the bar too high, to the point where they kinda get jealous of her :deadbanana2:. She created such an insane body of work, and I think some of them get a little mad at the fact that they wish they could do that… but they can't. So they try to give her a "slightly lower score" in order to "humble" her lmao.

It's weird, but I think there's a certain level of jealousy that may be at play. But maybe I'm wrong! Lmao! :gayoncecat3:

Yeah, the more I'm seeing these deep dives and VERY controversial takes of Cowboy Carter, that have been going viral on TikTok and Twitter. I think there may be a lot more factors that P4K is considering than we even know or see. So it could very much explain the 8.4 rating.

CC is messier than Renaissance but it's a stronger body of work (in my opinion)

Vocally and Lyrically she has never delivered better so once again I agree with Beyoncé herself
