benyonce Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Well, that was an exciting 24 hours. Ad was beautifully done and somehow felt down to earth despite the entire premise relying on the fact she is this massive powerhouse that breaks the internet. Looks are insane, she is looking more beautiful than ever. Promotion, all at once, with the only misstep being the lack of pre-order to capitalise on the initial hype, is pretty surprising for Bey in 2024. 16 Carriages is the instant click for me. Loved it first listen and it only gets better with each listen. One of those songs where every new layer and bit of song progression causes chills, on top of chills. Texas didn't hit at first for me. This is exactly how I felt with BMS. Already, it is growing on me. I will say, if it wasn't Bey I wouldn't of returned to listen again but here we are, and we BOPPING. I am super grateful for another 16 track album. I found the lead up to Ren really exciting, even if we only got crumbs in between announcement and launch, so the next few weeks will be great. 1
Miss Fortune Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Absolutely love both tracks. my only criticism of 16 carriages is that the amount of runs are a bit distracting in some of her delivery. gorgeous overall though and honestly cannot wait for this album. she really has not served anything less than stellar quality since 4.

My mind went to the same place though. Especially since she has a hair care line to sell. If she doesn’t want anymore of her business ventures to flop, she should really consider being more personable and book gigs like SNL. 2
QueenB Posted February 12 Posted February 12 We need some tik tokers to make a line dance for Texas Hold Em, this is a hit

Hell, even Beyonce herself seemingly thinks her amazing work would be more valid if the Grammys accepted it. A lot of people consider things that don't matter like numbers or awards as a reason for why something is bigger/better or more impactful/special. But Bey also sells her brand as luxury, which per definition is "not for everybody". Sure, she could have more hits, more streams, but what exactly does that matter in her career when shes breaking barriers left and right for women of color in the industry? Shes as legendary as can be, now shes using her platform to really move things differently and make it easier for the ones coming after her. She wants new women of color to be able to pick any genre they want, to be valued, to be celebrated. This is so much more powerful than a few more streams by white teenage girls 2 1

Have y’all not seen the obvious rise in racism and misogyny within the last year alone? Beyoncé knows her doing Country was and is going to start some sh*t. Hence also the reason why she literally just did a SUPERBOWL COMMERCIALLL for it lmao! I genuinely see Beyoncé doing something historic with this album and I’m kinda scared ngl, but I just knoowww she’s gonna eat DOWWNNN!!! Feels like 2016 all over again and guess what appeared in the commercial? The 'Lemonade' B.
swissman Posted February 12 Posted February 12 at the very least if we get nothing else, we will (should) be getting a new album art before the launch. I wonder if this time she will release videos ahead of time. We got into this mess already assuming that BMS video would come out later that week, but somehow I'm still hoping that Friday (first full tracking week) has at least one video. Probably [absolutely] not though.
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 12 Posted February 12 But like, is it me or does she display more relatability and vulnerability already with act2? For whatever reason, this feels closer to her soul and core than Rennie, which feels closer to Sasha.

So in the sense of reclaiming genres that white people have gotten more success for over the years, I just think it would've been more special had she went all out more. I think that where she is personally plays a role. She probably would have gone harder earlier in her career but now with the kids and the family life? I think she just doesn't enjoy promoting as much, she still loves making music, performing, etc. But her eras are shorter. 1
Devin Posted February 12 Posted February 12 so we making this #1 on BBH100 the week of like how we did BMS? 1

But being the musical guest and showing up in a skit with Mya Rudolph as her would be cute. 1

BMS at #1 was fueled strongly by radio… I don’t think this will be played as much as easily digestible BMS. If anything I think the debut will be the best chance at it being #1, hope I’m wrong though. 2
ShouldersSideways Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Have we talked about Nadia Lee Cohen posting it and saying "Coming Soon." 1
Lose My Breath Posted February 12 Posted February 12 So will Texas actually have a radio adds date though?

I thought I saw that...anyway, if that is true, it's smart because we saw that I'M THAT GIRL was getting such a boost on release week for being the first song... maybe that can help propel it further on release week if the radio is not as strong. I’m so excited to see what she’s doing for Bey. The Florida Project’s cinematographer is also involved in the visuals. This is going to be MASSIVE. 1
