I think both will happen but could be delayed again. I think the visuals could really go to Netflix. Think about it, relasing this movie about the tour to cinemas first, then by the time it gets to streaming, she makes a deal with Netflix to put the concert movie AND the visuals of the album on Netflix both and end the era like that. Act II is what i'm most worried about. It could be delayed to summer 2024. Edited December 4, 2023 by jane 1

ariesgroove Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 i saw the film on friday! such a beautiful and stunning display of the excellence that was and is the renaissance i started tearing up during dangerously in love, hearing her voice had me feel like i was genuinely at the concert all over again. the sound mixing in the movie was EXCELLENT. i don’t know how they did it so fast or how long it takes to do stuff like that with stuff from a tour that ended 2 months ago but still the sound system amplified the tiniest details. the theater i was in must’ve been older cause that speaker was about to BLOW when auiym started, that song got some creole witchcraft injected into it trust, i gave mother a 5 star review on letterboxd after that! 6 1
Carla Rosón Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Can anyone ask Deuxmoi if the visuals are still coming next year on Netflix? @Teezy @wren
Shone Ai Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I’m surprised how little the twins were featured considering that they were the dancers that worked with the longest along with Hannah. 1
PrettyHurts Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 i'm so eager to see it a third time it was so just well done , i literally wanna see it as many times as possible 1

TizTiz Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I needed to take some time to formulate my review because. . .MY GOD! But, I'm ready to speak-
TizTiz Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Intentional storytelling is the best storytelling. There was no stone left unturned and no House lifted UNGROOVED! From the very start of the film that leads to Beyoncé taking the stage with "Dangerously In Love (key revised)", you can nearly sense that the concert portion will be cleansed and in a higher quality that any of her previous outings. I thank GOD the 'opening act' was not disrupted too much with constant costume changes hindering the beautiful arrangement of "Flaw & THAT BXTCH". Keep in mind, I've never liked this song. These are 2 of the most boring songs she's recorded in the top of her career &, until now, I've never saw much purpose in them. Something within the arrangement, her delivery, her husky, mature tone of voice that is less piercing and pitchy and finally grown- I don't know, but they work for me now. Cutting to the behind the scenes perspective was right up my alley! I love knowing 'what happened' to get us 'here' and I'm curious why it took 4 years to plan a tour. I LOVED her giving a glimpse into the previous stage designs and explaining how much work goes into the tour. One of my main critiques early on was the 'industrial' look of the tour and why the stage hands & maintenance were obviously visible during performances and I understand why. Following that up with the 'opening' of Renaissance was genius to me. I noticed that not much of the earlier dates were featured here to showcase her delivery was better after her knee situation. I feel like this was a constant high every second. The film honestly did "ALIEN SUPERSTAR" more justice, than to have seen it live. Even seeing how the audio outage was handled in a timely manner leading into building the performance back up drove the momentum. Things began to get a bit more personal here. I don't mind not having the preludes cut, because this woman literally never tells us shxt, 🤣! I know she added that lil part of her checking Blue to drive home the point of she's a 'mother', but who knew Blue was a "Diva" Stan? I think the second have of the album has always been showcased while the tour was running and she doesn't drag it down in the editing. Final Cut Pro Queen knew not to mess with the Hive here. I still feels as if the third act comes too soon in the show and it felt out of place here. She missed the chance to put "MOVE with its melodic sisters, "Power" & "Girl". This part feels rushed, tho I know it's not. Blue FINALLY gets to talk to me, since we're Capricorn Cousins, and I did get teary-eyed. One of the few times Bey feeling 'pretentious' is justified. I remember the uproar social media caused because an 11 year old didn't go all out her first performance in front of 60,000 people. But sis, with the good hair, worked her axx off and proved Tasha K is a broke, nearly homeless, swollen ankle, bum begging for money through subscriptions to pay Cardi B. Now, around here is where we could've started chopping. The camera work here is exquisite, specifically the camera in the stage that aligns with the riser. The documentary part of the film became a little more relevant to me as she started to become more 'touchable' and I felt. . .the warmth of actually loving the PERSON she is. It seemed as if I was watching my sister or my aunt and I wanted to shield her from haters. Showing the process of rebuilding her body at the worst time in her career, showing the surgery and living her regular life. . .less than 40 days before hitting the stage. I do now understand why the first quarter of the tour was just lackluster, but I appreciate the moments she could comfortably push through to go beast mode. I found it funny that she talks about being a full time mother while being one of the current biggest artist in the world, then goes into 2 songs sampling The Clark Sisters. It was funny to me because at the height of their careers, together & separatly, they found balance in their lives by taking long breaks to focus on their children and husband's until their home were in a place for them to go back on the road. And during this film, she comes to the realization that she needs a good break to focus on her children and husband. "Choir Whxre" could've been more, but it also couldve never happened. This rendition of "Crazy In Love" was great, but we've seen every variation of any performance of this song (except the incredible 2013 remix version that would've fit perfectly at the top of this concert). There's nothing more she can do here, so let's go back to chopping it. She will PAYfor teasing "Freak'em Dress" in the some vein of the visuals. Of course "Love Hangover" & "River Deep" are gorgeous but easily overlooked Her work ethic with her toddlers age forcing her to be a regular person gave me mixed emotions. I want her to go as hard as she can so that I can continue to consume the little she gives now, but I don't want her children to experience the regret towards her that I have grown towards my own mother for her work ethic. Though I haven't been alouded the same life of The Carter children, Beyonce is right to create boundaries between her real life- her stage life-her PW boardroom life (see Chloes confusing album promo). She is now entering into the last quarter of the show. Now is where we really feel rushed. She's spent so much time elaborating on her time back home with the Destiny 5 girls, lol, her enjoying Fried Chicken and Fried Swai and honoring her old home. "VIRGO'S GROOVE" and "Plastic off The Sofa", again, are two moments that benefit from 'movie magic' seeing as how she ruined them in real time. The stories of Uncle Johnny was heartwarming (still OUT OF SEQUENCE) and "HEATED" has to be his Spirit calling song. Now about the 'Big 3'. . ."Thique", which is in my Top 5 of the album (maybe #6), is just nothing more than a glorious album track because she's never seemed to do anything with it but look bored. The scenes of Robot Bey singing on the backing visuals could've been heavily placed here to give a little more something. "Drunk In Love" was the store of the 'Big 3'. The last leg was perfectly edited and dubbed. I wish they would've played around more with the visuals going into "America Has A Problem". Kendrick served his purpose and killed it. "Pure/Honey/Blow" was giving until the cut before the 'BALLROOM' sequence, why is it in the middle of the film abd chopped up. I get by then they're itching to cut time, but there was no reason to change the sequence. The last bit of the doc before the final climax was a fresh wind. Then "Summer Renaissance. . .In The Air" again doesn't keep the momentum going, but it's serves its purpose. Now imagine my face when the God awful "My House" comes on because. . .HIRE MATTHEW! She's been on a journey of 'identity' since "4", but I think she might just be there now that there's some much pressure off her shoulders. I just hoping that doesn't overshadow the quality of her music as it pertains to albums because- "Black Parade", "My House". . . . . . . . 2 2 1
Shone Ai Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 A couple of things I felt was missing was the insight on the costume direction and the space/futuristic theme 8

I was so happy to see Amari specifically mentioned when she was talking about Blue, it was really sweet The twins were the weakest part of her live show, imo. I'm not surprised they weren't highlighted much. They would freestyle breakdance to Dangerously in Love and Flaws and All if Beyoncé let them 2
R.E.M. Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 just came back from the movie and it was incredible I need the live album now
Fleahive Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I noticed Hannah was pushed to the side for Amari and before the movie I had no idea Amari was a dance captain I thought it was just Hannah
Fleahive Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Unpopular opinion but Renaissance can’t be topped. This is the most addicting album in the history of albums. Even when I get tired of it for a month or so I’m drawn back in. I kinda want Beyonce to stop making albums after this because I’ll never enjoy her albums if it isn’t dance themed with seamless transitions. I’d rather her drop quick lil singles for the rest of her career. 1 1

Fleahive Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Not to go off topic but I went down the Reddit unpopular opinions rabbit hole and as expected Taylor has taken over the “overrated” narrative that once belonged to Beyonce. BUT when they drag Taylor they always include a “but” to say that they think she’s talented and a nice person but her music is boring. With Beyonce they’d say anything to deny her talent and make up reasons to make her out to be some villain. Hm
