I agree that Partition/Savage could’ve been cut too but Megan came and saved that little section when the tour started and she cut back on heavy dancing seemingly at the advantage of live singing, it was "why isn't she dancing?" now that certain ballads are cut it's "how will anyone ever know she's a good singer?!" 1
Kingdom Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 She's not cutting flaws and all....that a song she literally dedicates to the fans that TRULY love her in the show. Apart from love on top, i am fine with everything she cut. Glad majority of renee made it. Its called the renaissance film after all. 3

Mitsouko Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I love documentary footage! I love behind the scenes! But preferably when it's accessible by pressing the menu button on my remote at any time! Not when it's stopping a concert's momentum dead in its tracks 1 1
Kassi Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I don’t agree with cutting ANY of the opening act on principle. But I’m not super bothered cause we have better performances of both I Care and 1+1. If I’m being real, she was dodging a lot of notes for I Care. Though, the new instrumental more than made up for it. Also, 1+1/Beautiful Ones > 1+1/I’m Goin’ Down 1 1
ICLDXU4HS Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I get that she probably wanted all of Rennie in but Fallenandcantgetup Off the Sofa should’ve been cut in favor of Love on Top and I Care. 1 1
Kristie Kuwa Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Most of my friends who are casual fans of Bey thought that the ballad section dragged on a bit and that DIL and Flaws and All were the highlights of that section, so it seems Team Bey made the right decision. We have better performances of these songs already
SashaDevachelli Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I’m strictly watching this film to see bey with no makeup wearing a big ass hoodie, and I want to see Blue eat her mother up live on a big screen that’s all I care about. She’s including all the Rennie songs and that’s all that matters I want to see her personality more than the tour which I already got to see
SixWholeYears Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Is Loop the sample in the movie? That's all i need

I’d wait to see it before making assumptions. 2

All of those songs have been performed at least in three other documented and released concerts. There's really no artistic need for them to be present when there are others that better fit the vibe and speak to the tour's theme, speak to her artistry just as well, or simply are more upbeat/fun (like the album is), and have more interesting setups than her being at the microphone stand, sitting on a piano, or asking the audience to sing. And I LOVED LOT but part of why it was so great was because it surprised me. Having seen it done many times on film before, it never actually felt the way it feels to do it in person with Beyoncé, seeing her genuine reaction to what YOU are singing, etc. It's a nice moment to have in the film, but it could never capture the actual feeling, and since she's included it in films already many times, is it really a necessary component? It's not worth-arguing at this point when you're supporting your views with a mere "great gowns, beautiful gowns" while I was referring to technicalities such as the call and response with the guitarrist. It is what it is. 1
SashaDevachelli Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 So is the My House thing actually true? I need another AHAP track right neow

But if I'm ever itching to "relive" my concert experience, I'm gonna be pressed at their forced inclusion. For instance Homecoming is a fine package in and of itself but the replay factor was lessened by the documentary parts. imo
ShouldersSideways Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Spoiler Variety posted the setlist and she moved River Deep/Mountain High before Diana's appearance, presumably because she's discussing her idols and what they went through so it works thematically. 3 3
Blue Rose Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 LOT is a no brainer. The crowd ruins it every night. It had no place to be in the film. A highlight during the show though. Just like the ballads! But they suck when you’re watching the live footage. I didn’t even realize that I was skipping some songs until it was too late. For every video, I just go straight to the 23min mark, catch the end of I Care to see her dress and then the real show begins. It all felt very natural 1
giRLbye. Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I can’t wait until we get back to full length complete concert releases like TBE, IAY, etc. No crazy editing or documentary crap taking up space from songs. 4

If the content is interesting, I'm engaged. But I feel having the live album makes up for that stop-and-go, because in my mind I have experienced the concert over and over in full because of it. Blue Rose Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 We need more spoilers about My House. Also I think whoever decided to compare it to AHAP probably has no idea what they are talking about. I know a setup when I see it 2
