isn’t that just an Obsessed reference tho ? :rip:

True but the queen that posted it was at the film premier and tagged the post #renaissancefilm which made me feel a lil sus on the context.

Her cutting the ballad section fills me up with joy

It’s visually the least impressive and entertaining part

This just cut my excitement level in half tbh

shameful decision

1+1 was the performance I was looking forward the most along with Drunk In Love...

I don't know, I'm quite disappointed and bitter as it's an absolute disaster from an artistic point of view. Those moments could have reminded the GP of her vocal capabilities, but no, apparently she doesn't care at all about that.

I'm fed up with her shenanigans.

Yeah she’s right trimming the fat otherwise it would just be way too long and drag. All those songs have received more than what they deserve. She can add them back for the physical and digital release. Also a lot of us have been saying those were the weakest points of the show.

You’re very raggedy for shading God Parade

No I actually do enjoy BP (more than most people here I think dd) but the tour performance is not essential imo

Honestly, the movie having showings in Israel available for sale is so disheartening. It makes me so sad as a big fan, especially with the double standard of it having no showings in Russia (rightfully so).

I know it might not be her call to make but it's still a huge bummer. My tix are non-refundable too.

It's not apart of the BDS boycott, like most movies are not apart of it since they're not explicitly supporting Israel but it still feels wrong to promote this even among my circles and friends.

The melodrama. Like seriously. The

theatrics.

I’d have assumed she was sending special invites to Israeli military commanders.

Artistic disaster for a film called RENAISSANCE to cut inconsequential songs from the setlist that are sprinkled in, not integral in any way to the message? I duno about that.

What is happening? Girlbye dragging Bey while we are defending her decision?
The world is shifting…

The show itself was very long. I obviously loved it as I went three times, but it was really pushing it length-wise for a concert.

Some reviews the film's only flaw is it goes on a little too long. If she'd kept those songs in, people would be shifting in their seats ready to walk out by the end. And that's not how you want people to leave your movie.

I personally don't care because 4/5 should've never been included on the setlist. If the big 3 and REN songs were cut I'd be annoyed. LOT deserved (sorta) but otherwise what are we truly missing.

But Lift Off, Black Parade and the lifeless Partition deserved?

You'd be annoyed if Diva and Formation were to be cut although they looked identical :skull:

In the context of the concert, it makes sense that the first act would be 5 songs (or however long) it was... we needed that time spent with Beyoncé in the light to really take in the moment that she's on stage with us before she cuts to the darkness of the RENAISSANCE sections, but on film we really only need the 2 (or whatever) to intro us into it.

I'm still hoping we get a live album though, and that it contains all moments.

plenty of other songs could've been cut...the documentary BS could've been cut

pls..there are other options including getting rid of the section that hardly made in the tour in the first place

vocally...what's left?

the only weak spot for me was Rather Die Young, and that’s just because of its placement in the set

Thematically all of those make far more sense to include than anything cut. Lift Off is straight up about space travel which is echoed in the visual accompaniments and is a bridge to CUFF IT which itself talks about spaceships flying. Black Parade is about Black Pride, something the album and by extension the tour is very clear about. Partition could be cut, but it at least gave us more moments of her dancing on the tank which is unlike anything we've seen from Beyoncé before, whereas we've seen her on a piano how many times? Diva and Formation also deal with themes of self-empowerment (either for women or celebration of Blackness) which match the theme of the concert, too.

Comparing any of these to standard love ballads and you can see why maybe they stayed, while the love ballads were cut.

Social media activism is not real y'all. Usually the loudest are the ones that don't really care about none of what actually matters. And you can tell by their energy too.

Reactionist and performative. Nasa should make a documentary about them

Beyoncé served additional vocals even on songs that do not require vocals like COZYDiva and AHAP...what do you mean "what's left?" there's plenty.
