Titanbaddie Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I do wonder how IASF would've been received by critics as a solid one disk album, the double disk marketing gimmick worked in terms of press but i think it made the album weaker sounding that it actually is. I think this would've been a respectable late 2000s pop album tracklist. 1. If I were a boy 2. Halo 3. Sweet Dreams 4. Single Ladies 5. Disappear 6. Diva 7. Smash Into You (or Broken Hearted) 8. Why don't you love Jesus 9. Ego 10. Scared Of Lonely 11. Ave Maria

Why don't you love Jesus 9. Ego 10. Scared Of Lonely 11. Ave Maria Really valid point! The double disc made total sense branding-wise and the era at large for sure roped in a huge Pop/GP audience for Bey. I too have always felt there was a strong singular, largely uptempo album within its tracks. IMO, it'd go something like: 1. Hello 2. Sweet Dreams 3. Radio 4. Single Ladies 5. Diva 6. Ego 7. Why Don't You Love Me 8. Scared Of Lonely 9. If I Were A Boy 10. Brokenhearted Girl 11. Halo Because I'm kind of extra, I'd go as far as to say there's even a loose theme in that sequence of tracks that she could have used promotionally speaking (to give the album a "story)". Maybe even with interludes: -- Love & Infatuation -- 1. Hello 2. Sweet Dreams -- Self Love / Swagging Out After Being Done Wrong / Single Life -- 3. Radio 4. Single Ladies 5. Diva 6. Ego -- But Still Hurting -- 7. Why Don't You Love Me 8. Scared Of Lonely 9. If I Were A Boy 10. Brokenhearted Girl -- Mourning the Girl She Once Was As She Moves Forward -- 11. Halo <<< song is vague enough to fit the spec of "rebirth" and taking the essence of the old/pure her that's been lost on her journey forward. Spoiler Girl, where is this movie...because we are BORED af LMAO Edited November 13, 2023 by Cbreezy 1

Draper. Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Pure Honey now over 90M streams on Spotify. The trailer helped the album streams slightly, so I hope the film makes a bit of a difference on that regard. 1

She could release a live album on streaming platforms, that would for sure connect people to the rest of her discography. Just an idea.

Just an idea. I think that’s a given, but maybe not December 1st. Having it for preorders that day and releasing it in like February with vinyls and a streaming release (announced later) could be a possibility. But that’s actually kind of smart and she doesn’t act like that with releases (and that’d push act ii even further so we don’t want that). The live album being a Christmas present is also a possibility. But to be honest, the interlude and Break My Soul sound perfectly mixed in the second trailer (compare it to the mix of Cruel Summer Live for example…). It’d be criminal not to release a live album.

The Platinum edition should've been a FULL double-disc album (with the appropriate runtime) to qualify for double certification. I'm surprised Matthew didn't do that, especially because she had so many demos laying around afterwards. Forever To Bleed (IA), Control (SF), I'm Alone Now (IA), Black Culture (SF), Beat My Drum (SF), and Roc (IA) would've all made suitable bonus tracks.
cloudbusting Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I Am… So Fillery did NOT need any extra tracks - the duality theme was good in theory but poorly executed. It needed to be condensed down to the best of the best (maybe 5 for each?) and that would’ve made it a stronger body of work like individual songs are fantastic, it’s just sloppy as a project 2

The fact that many/all of those you listed are better than some of the tracks that made the final. With a bit of polishing up, they could have been amazing additions, I agree.
swissman Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 It's funny we talk about IASF as her worst and needing an edit yet the standard edition was 11 songs (not including bonus tracks). It'd be interesting if she approached this with her perspective and artistic skills of 2023...but the 2008 version does very much feel like just a bunch of tracks split between ballads and uptempo. I'd think if she tried this now, the two discs would feel like separate albums and not necessarily be limited in tempo but subject matter and mood.

ScorpiosGroove Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 kinda happy Karen’s getting the Beyoncé media treatment now, takes the pressure off of her, redirects the "b-b-but she’s overrated" comments to the deserving artist and brings Bey one step closer to her dream of becoming the unknown indie artist she yearns to be

Kassi Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Not me getting a 48 hour ban cause I said #thatwar has nothing to do with Bey. I didn't even insult anybody. Some of ya'll are so corny. Now, like clockwork, Bey's IG comments are in shambles. I hope she disables them like Miss Americana. Beyoncé, sweetie, I'm SO sorry for ever doubting your media strategy. I totally get why you don't talk to even us, your "fans".

Kassi Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 As far as screenings go, I've upped mine to 3 shows. Thursday 11/30 - At the IMAX theater in a rich neighborhood so I can enjoy the film in (relative) peace Friday 12/01 - At a regular theater in a central part of town so I can gauge the GP perception Saturday 12/02 - In a black ass part of town so I can engage in the shenanigans with my people and have a concert 2.0 experience 1 2
