I’m questioning our friendship. She and my husband also think Adele is a better vocalist. It was a rough night :deadbanana2:

I remember having this argument back in like 2016 when I was in college with some people after I told them I attended the Formation tour. Those hoes were so confident and cocky with their claims and mocking me saying 'you're delusional, even if we brought 100 people in front of you to tell you Adele is a better singer you still wouldn't believe it'  tf :skull: so I made them google it themselves. They were so shocked that each and every site and ranking they went on put Beyonce above Adele :ahh:

The reality is a lot of people equate being fat, standing still and singing ballads to being a more talented vocalist :deadbanana:

She shouldn't tour act ii and instead give us performances on award shows etc, and then tour all acts together after act iii

never gonna happen

I recently read someone describe her voice as being rich in flavour, and that really sums it up for me.

She is the combination of having a strong natural aptitude for singing, along with maintaining excellent technique throughout her career (thus preserving her voice very well) and borrowing from a wealth of influence of different styles and experience throughout her career. She's always pushed herself vocally and done something different with each album, which can't be said for every singer. You can hear the influence from R&B, gospel, funk, hip hop, pop, rock etc. in her vocal performances and her practice using different scales (Arabic for example). That's why I think her vocal on Renaissance is so strong because there's so much character in her voice.

If I Were A Boy…. Now that’s a hidden gem she needs to bring back. The way it would have the stadium’s belting it out, especially in Europe

Im surprised she didn’t change the set list for US and Europe.

According to the early setlist from Renaissance tour book, she included Irreplaceable and another song along with Bittersweet Symphony, I presume If I Were A Boy. So, she considered a lot of songs, they just didn’t work out. Which is fine. Maybe she’ll use them next time

All I could say was (1) Beyoncé can sing any and all Adele songs but Adele cannot do all Beyoncé songs, and (2) let’s revisit the convo after we literally hear her sing live Friday night. Like I can’t wait for them AND my dad (who is also a bit of a hater) to hear the opening act :gayoncecat1:

I’ve been an Adele fan since 19 but literally everyone knows that Beyoncé could sing Hello, Someone Like You, Rumour Has It, Take It All, ALL NIGHT PARKING, My Same, Daydreamer - but Adele can’t sing Plastic Off The Sofa or Dangerously In Love or LISTEN. LISTEN?! And those are just the BALLADS! Someone run the AI machine!

Renaissance is really one of her most colorful albums vocally (if not the most) and the RANGE of singing styles she exhibits on that record… like the stacked harmonies on each song alone put entire discographies to shame

truly a masterclass :clap3:

I would’ve simply told them Yebba > Adele now thats a fact that would shake the table.

I don't even try anymore tbh. Those who know know, those who don't don't.

There are people here who would swear up and down that even Kelly Row is a better vocalist and that the high in Emotions comes from her.

Someone told me once that the navy's fave sings better. I just shuckled and moved on.

Adelephants' fave is really not the worst I've heard, it sure is frustrating but what can one do. Bey's career is so long and her voice in such good shape that I know history will look very favorably on her on that point. And when she transitions with age into a MOR/powerful ballads' singer, it'll be even more evident.

Ikr? The harmonies are unreal, the Cuff It acapella for example is extraordinary. I'm sure there are still layers to that album I haven't really heard yet even after all this time.

unfortunately a lot of GP might as well be deaf when it comes to technical musical analysis. :dancehall3: they think a piano ballad with voice cracks is the apex of vocal ability.

coming through with the taste! Adele could not sing a third of "Boomerang" and that's that on that.

I've always been a massive Bey fan since I was a kid (she's my 4th most played artist ever) but seeing RWT really made me to a full blown stan

Like I saw her a week ago and the post-show depression is still kicking my ass it makes me tear up :jonny2:  literally considering flying to see her again
