Beyonce really be singing her ass off...i'm not even talking about RWT....i've been going down a rabbit hole of old performances & concerts. plenty of material available to make the claim that she is one of the greatest vocalists of all time. anyone who doesn't know it just wants to be in denial. thats why i'm kinda like "eh" when ppl say they want her to do an album of ballads or pure vocals. yeah i get it...but if the wealth of material available doesnt already prove it to them...then nothing ever will.

3 tours in 7 years :rip: she'll be almost 50. There's no chance that happens.

I can see the tour for act ii being a limited theater residency if it is a lo-fi acoustic album

What song do you think aged the worst on the LEMONADE album?

Personally, I think it’s Sorry…..that song is a hit or miss these days for me. The sound is just grating to me:gaycat7:

She's the greatest technical vocalist of all time I think, disregarding tone/emoting/etc. :chick1:

And when you compare her to Whitney and Mariah's which were declining rapidly in their 40s, it really shows how excellent her technique is to hold up so well.

Sorry was dated upon arrival, she chose to release that as a single to promote the album and lost AOTY for it. The lyrics are cringe and the annoying “eye ain’t sorray” “suck on my balls” is unforgivable. Glad Lemonade is flopping because of it. Worst song in her discography.

Now the original demo… a whole different story.

Right!?

A gem! We need Beyonce in the studio with a full orchestra.

If the rumors about act ii and act iii are true, I hope both Irreplaceable and If I Were A Boy come back. I'd be happy to hear them after ten years

If I Were A Boy…. Now that’s a hidden gem she needs to bring back. The way it would have the stadium’s belting it out, especially in Europe

Im surprised she didn’t change the set list for US and Europe.

I really wanna hate her and stop caring but when I see stuff like this

Wow

Her mannerism, body language and expressivity are surreal. She was born to do this.

It's especially interesting watching her up close next to the dancers because while you can tell they are executing the moves better she is just so much more entrancing to watch.

Oprah said it best. This comes from a source that creates the planets, there's no other way.

It was a childish jingle at release too! And she sacrificed hold Up, just so Sorry could tank the era. She should of left it as a trending song that the Gworls could play at their predrinks instead of throwing it at the radio/ GP. Imagine you most mature album being represented by Sorry... Giselle!!

This isn't really true, though? I'm Gen-Z (as are my friends) and we love Bey :rip: At the RWT in Toronto my section was mostly late teens/early-mid 20-somethings. For context, I wasn't alive when DC was popping but that doesn't mean I didn't grow up listening to DC - their music has always been featured prominently in our community/family functions/social events. Even though IASF is the first Bey era I 'remember', the streaming age made it possible to discover her older albums so despite some of us joining the Hive later in her career, we still ride for her older music that we grew up listening to (but we're entirely infatuated with because we were too young to 'stan'). On the rare occasion I do meet a Gen-Z who doesn't like Bey they're either a. White/don't like ""Black"" music b. Try to be edgy/don/t want to play into the 'Goddess' persona. There really is no objective way to measure Bey's pull with Gen-Z. Some might argue we should look at streaming stats but I think that's more of a promotional problem.

The fact that Bey only has two real studio albums released in the streaming age has set her back tremendously. One of her most culturally significant albums, Lemonade, was also locked away in Tidal Tower for years. It doesn't help that the projects she did put out outside of studio albums were poorly marketed (e.g., EIL & Mufasa music). Ultimately, I think if she had done a proper studio album in 2018 and 2020/2021 before Reneigh, her streaming stats would be much better off and she'd feel bigger. Prominence in the streaming era is about volume. The most streamed female artists are Ariana and Taylor and the former has put out 4 albums & the latter 8 albums in the streaming era :rip:

this, the only reason she's not as "big" with our generation is because of lack of promo, i still remember when the day where i listened to all her albums for the first time at my grandmas house in summer 2019 shortly after the gift had dropped, and i don't even think i knew OF the gift's existence until Black is king was announced.

i regularly introduce my friends to her music and specific more "obscure" songs (obscure to the Geepee), and there has not been a single song they dont like, HELL they even like the mufasa music!!! :deadbanana4:

pretty sure it’s a new option because I hadn’t seen that before today! the interest is admittedly ridiculous, but the cost per month fits my budget better atm and I can always pay it off early when conditions improve :giraffe:

Wait now let me wait for my new debit card and paycheck to arrive and see what the accommodations cost :giraffe:

She shouldn't tour act ii and instead give us performances on award shows etc, and then tour all acts together after act iii

The way she walks down the steps during ITG can kill. Now that I think about it... I've rarely seen a Beyonce impersonator that can do it like her.

You could find plenty on the streets for the hee-hee singer though. :chick1:

I don’t care about the visuals anymore, I would rather see her tour other parts of the world.

So my family and bff are getting prepared for this Friday’s concert and my bff (who was so excited when I told her I got her a ticket) toldd me last night she only listened to Renaissance in full last week. She’d only heard snippets through TikTok.

I’m questioning our friendship. She and my husband also think Adele is a better vocalist. It was a rough night :deadbanana2:
