Pushing Cecred through CR Fashion Book is... a choice.

I don’t understand why you expected something from that CR thing, it was clearly not music related.

However, I don’t understand how they chose to make her wear those wigs if she’s pushing Cecred. Shouldn’t her hair look like the beginning of the REN tour? Ma ii ka !

LIKE!

I can only hope it's a case of having other publications lined up for the era itself because it's not making a shred of sense at all. The publication, the shoot, the fact it's "for" Cecred. All odd af.

In hindsight I agree, but Bey has made a point of premium-izing everything she does. So, even the magazine covers at this point are few and far between.

Her doing CR on the cusp of a full-fledged era felt like "something" but ultimately is giving nothing.

We all saw how a well-aligned magazine tie-in can work for an era e.g. British Vogue for Rennie and even all the easter eggs she gave us in Harper's Bazaar when she turned 40.

That CR shoot is a mess, I’m sorry.

And as someone else said, if she’s using CR to promote cécred, why isn’t she wearing her natural hair? Doesn’t really make any sense to me.

What bothers me most is its juxtaposition with the country era as a whole. I was hoping for a bit more cohesiveness but it’s just… there.

This era started off sublimely but is slowly unravelling before our eyes. I’m not concerned with the declining performance of Texas in the US as it’s done what it needed to do and more, I’m more concerned with the lack of preorders, etc.

On the other hand, she has just lost her uncle so I feel we should perhaps be giving her a bit more breathing room. I just thought all this would already be pre-planned but the rollout is very much serving improv so far.

Also, Ms Tina acknowledging Kelly’s success with Mea Culpa but not even so much as a mention of Bey’s BB100 #1 is so funny to me idk :chick1:

Im genuinelly surprised she didnt announce the tour/preorders this past week. It's really strange. She always has a plan tho, we should trust her I guess

She’s back to doing everything wrong. At least we got a good ten days?

No pre-order is insane, she’s her worst enemy fr

back to complaining or did complaining never stop?

I'm still surprised Texas is doing so well in European countries. I wonder if a bombastic country ballad can as well. That would be even more impressive.

It's less so knots, it just doesn't feel...smart. Nor does it feel commercially optimal on her part.

Having followed pretty much every era of hers, including this anti-Pop star flex she's been on for the last decade, it's not lost on me that there is a definite on/off season with Bey and the handling of her music career specifically. It's definitely intentional and loosely translates to Solo Era / Primetime Bey ("on") and Side Project / Collabs Bey ("off").

Put simply, she typically doesn't fumble her main solo eras. They (Columbia/Parkwood etc) do the "things" needed to establish at the very least this base level of success:

* A hit single

* High first-week album sales <<< most

* Platinum Status

Bey is not a Taylor or an Ari with a cultish fanbase who will buy a bundle with the air they breath. Nor is the Hive (much as Iove us) the largest audience (we grown now and are much more likely to show up at a tour). Put simply, to remain commercially viable sales-wise, she actually needs:

* Stan purchases

* those who will auto-buy because of FOMO

* GP

* A lengthy window to grab all of the above.

For seemingly no justifiable reason, they aren't seizing the moment properly. And it's jarring. Pls do not think the success of Texas automatically = album sales.

Bey has a big base, but she's peddling something extremely left of her established audience and a big GP hit doesn't necessarily translate into album sales. Just ask Miley with Flowers and whatever its attached album was.

And some of us may sound/look like we're doing the most, but I can promise you that the Base will meltdown to the ground if she comes in with 150k and THEN all will start complaining about everything she "should" have done.

I'm Hive and can still admit that she **needs** to **keep** playing the game to elongate her reign. She needs the preorder windows, she needs the vinyl, the bundles, the boxes, etc to keep the competition. Cus that whole "slaying for 27 years" ish the stans lap up doesn't just happen nor sustain itself, it's something she has to keep watering constantly.

Edit: I do agree, though, that ULTIMATELY, we can't care more about her ish than she does. So, for as much as I've written, if she doesn't mind doing 150k (which I will never believe true), then I won't lose sleep over it one way or the other lol. I think I have always (and continue) to assess Bey as a "brand" and to a degree "product", so my mind will always be wired around how to keep that product fresh and flying off the shelves.

Damn, you have a lot of time

Especially since Essence already covered. I don’t have an issue with her talking about her new venture however couldn’t this have been done prior to an album era? And she could have talked about both imo.

Shade lol.

I write a lot but it's pretty off the dome and a lot of what we're talking about with Bey (e.g. entertainment, marketing, press strategy) is not only what I'm passionate about but it's pretty much what I actually "do"... in real life. But shade away ay ;-)

Plus, because it's what I "do", I can tell you for free that labels and artist teams actually do check out sites like this. It's free feedback and often highly nuanced. Remember Parkwood, Columbia etc are...humans...doing....a....job. So, it's not as if me (or any of us) for the matter, are hollering into an echo chamber. It's all valuable feedback.

I dont know, but the last decade, Bey has claimed her own blackness more than ever, to the point where even her own community side-eyed her. And now with her alleged "whitest" genre, shes succeeding like never before. Im obviously just making things up for entertainment purposes, but who knows lol
