Dr. Alexander Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Plus, the 17 bubbles definitely indicate the official album reveal will be on Wednesday. Mind you, the last album was released one week after the lead dropped. I don’t see her not doing that again because that’s what fans are expecting

But I remember hearing that we should expect more promotion? Idk
worldwide angel Posted January 14 Posted January 14 so what are some of our hopes for the album i read the tun, ME, YT description and i'm excited i would love some imogen'd tracks a la "a new kind of love" and maybe a pinkpantheress feat
Dr. Alexander Posted January 14 Posted January 14 1 minute ago, State of Grace. said: I mean it's Ariana ddd, she loves spoiling us. And to be fair, not much has been revealed. She only said that yes, and?'s artwork is also one of the album coverS and a landing page has been made for the "es". Everything else we know has been from other sources/insiders. I feel like if the album was coming next week or even in two weeks we would have known already. She also revealed there’s seven album covers, and she basically gave away the album title with the music video. We didn’t know Positions was coming as soon as it did, and we surely didn’t see Midnights coming either.
Tm4074 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I agree the long pre-album rollout is hard to pull off in this era of music. It seems at though she's not going to have physicals (vinyls) ready for album release week to avoid leaks? So we don't know when they plan on releasing the album. There have been insiders saying March though so who knows. I'm really hoping there is more r&b on the album as I'm not a the biggest fan of her big pop songs. I would love some jazz-funk which is what I was hoping she leaned into on this album opposed to the house sound. I'm curious if the album is entirely solo or if there are some collaborations. The rumored 20 tracks means there should be some collabs I'm assuming? The mystery surrounding this album is very exciting even if the lead isn't my favorite.
ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted January 14 ATRL Moderator Posted January 14 31 minutes ago, Dr. Alexander said: The landing page for the store is prepped. It was revealed too early last week, and they took it down quickly. I am not saying that whatever tea Scandal is given is stale, but one reliable source also claimed the album to be dance pop, while Scandal has said it’s R&B. But its not even just that, but I don’t see the point of her revealing this much information about the album two months ahead. The music business has changed rapidly. People want music as soon as they can get it. They aren’t going to sit on an album for another two months while the peers are dropping their projects almost immediately. SZA teased SOS for months and had one of the biggest albums of the year… Ariana will be fine. 2
Gerardo Posted January 14 Posted January 14 If they’re not gonna have vinyls ready or even the 2nd single they should re-consider dropping it on February, that way hype would be bigger, YA? would be more stable, and more time to chart high on the year end charts and to check which track could be the 2nd single
Gerardo Posted January 14 Posted January 14 29 minutes ago, Marvin said: SZA teased SOS for months and had one of the biggest albums of the year… Ariana will be fine. This is true, ultimately what matters the most for the album to do good is the quality and reception, look at DW underperforming in every metric at first, but all the Ariana stans love(d) it and now it’s around 10M EAS
Tm4074 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Any predictions for potential collaborations on the album? I was originally thinking it was entirely solo but the rumors of 20 tracks leads me to believe there may be some collabs. I would love to see SZA, Thundercat, or The Weeknd on the album. Pipe dream would be Rihanna or Beyoncé lol. Stan twitter doing mental gymnastics thinking Olivia Rodrigo is on the album. I wouldn't be opposed to it but I don't see it at this point in both their careers.
kindararenext Posted January 14 Posted January 14 i think she's dropping a behind the scenes from the mv on the 17th and will probably start teasing a second single on the 27th for an early february release. i trust @Scandal so i believe the album is coming in march

Dialamba Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Ariana isn’t a R&B/Rap artists they drop their albums then dip and a lot of them have a poor longevity. Ariana always builds her albums through her singles we all saw it with predictions about positions going from 250k to 175k. If the singles don’t live the hype the album will underperform there’s no need to rush the era.
Dr. Alexander Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) 1 hour ago, Marvin said: SZA teased SOS for months and had one of the biggest albums of the year… Ariana will be fine. I never said anything about her not doing fine. I just said I don’t see why she would reveal this much and have the landing page ready if the album isn’t coming for two more months. When I said “they”, I wasn’t referring to fans or the public. I was referring to the record label. Edited January 14 by Dr. Alexander
Cqmerqn Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I’m surprised to see that this isn’t going to be a fully dance-pop record. I’m a huge fan of pop girlies music, so I’m not sure why I’m saying this, but I much prefer R&B Ariana. She just does it so well and it really helps showcase her vocal. 3

Eternium Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Just a side note: Ariana’s studio albums have moved 18.74M units in the U.S. as of 2/17/23. Assuming she has sold 2.79M pure albums of those studio albums, that means her studio albums have earned 159.5M single units in the U.S. That’s 178.24M total units in the U.S. Her RIAA certifications for tracks that are not on studio albums are 4x Platinum for Santa Tell Me (1/9/24), Platinum for Beauty and The Beast (8/24/22), 2x Platinum for Stuck With U (9/17/21), 2x Platinum for Focus (4/12/21), Platinum for Boyfriend (6/15/20) and Gold for Put Your Hearts Up (7/30/14). That’s 7.5M units (5.5M if we exclude SWU, which we have NSS numbers for). Some Nielsen Soundscan updates for her tracks that are not on studio albums are 850k for Last Christmas (12/22/22), 600k for Santa Baby (12/22/22), 350k for Oh Santa (12/22/22), 3.8M for Rain On Me (6/2/23) and 2.9M for Stuck With U (11/11/22). That’s 8.5M more units. We know she’s at least at 192.24M records pushed in the U.S. Tldr; Ariana is the first and only 2010s female artist to push 200M units in the U.S. 5
judasmonster Posted January 15 Posted January 15 probably in the minority here but yes, and? dangerous woman no tears left to cry positions the way thank u, next problem
wantedyoutogrow Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I don’t want the 2nd single to come in february, I’m fine with a promo single tho Imo she should drop the album on march 15th as Scandal said and the 2nd single should come a week earlier/with the album release
Aristocrat Posted January 15 Posted January 15 2 hours ago, wantedyoutogrow said: Imo she should drop the album on march 15th as Scandal said and the 2nd single should come a week earlier/with the album release yeah, this is the best method I think. it gives the second single two big chances at #1 as well. so hopefully 2nd single march 8th. 1
