we all know all she’s gonna do in terms of promo is a couple vevo performances and maybe a few interviews with the usual suspects (zach sang and jimmy fallon)

I don’t expect much, just cause it’s Ariana. I doubt she’ll do anything for the lead besides Instagram and TikTok posts. The Grammys are in three weeks and it would serve if she performed yes, and? there  but I’m not holding my breath. 

 

For the album I expect Zach Sang cause she always does that. I hope she’ll do at least one talk show like Fallon, but maybe also Kelly Clarkson’s show cause they’re friends too. I really hope there’s a chance she’ll do SNL again (as musical guest AND host) now that P*te isn’t on the cast anymore and her good friend/Wicked co-star Bowen Yang is. Maybe he’ll talk her into it. He also has a popular podcast called Las Culturistas I’d love if she’d go on. Also that girl who hosts Chicken Shop Date posted a story on her IG about yes, and? so it would be so cool if she could film an episode of that too before she left London. I also with she’d go on the Call Her Daddy podcast cause it’s one of the biggest podcasts on Spotify and would be a great place for her to promote the album and talk about her life over the past few years, but I doubt she would.

 

Besides that, I hope she’ll release lots of behind the scenes studio footage making the album and maybe give us more VEVO style performances.

Yeah I don't think she's getting the #1 in the U.S., unfortunately.  The Max Martin/Ariana curse of just missing the #1 on the Hot 100 strikes again lol. I appreciate her experimenting with other genres but house music was always going to be a hard sell (especially in the U.S.) considering Ariana's target audience. I know the gays on here wanted more dance-pop but ~85% of her audience is women between the ages of 12-35 and that isn't going to resonate as much with them. I also think they were trying too hard for "yes, and?" to become the new "thank u, next" cultural moment/meme and you just can't manufacture a moment like that. 

 

I'm still hopeful for the album. Even though the lead wasn't my favorite she is clearly trying to get out of her comfort zone which makes me excited to hear the rest of the album.

i get that we want the song to go #1 but i don't think we should write it off as a complete bomb like the twitter stans are. plus i think the gap is narrow enough for us to get it so never say never i guess

Not debuting at #1 doesn't mean it's bombing like what kinda logic is that? The streams, sales are excellent. It's just she's facing a very strong competitor

I think we might get a promo track in February while she's finishing Wicked filming and then she'll launch the album with the 2nd single right after.

I am not saying that whatever tea Scandal is given is stale, but one reliable source also claimed the album to be dance pop, while Scandal has said it’s R&B. 
 

But its not even just that, but I don’t see the point of her revealing this much information about the album two months ahead. The music business has changed rapidly. People want music as soon as they can get it. They aren’t going to sit on an album for another two months while the peers are dropping their projects almost immediately.

I mean it's Ariana ddd, she loves spoiling us. And to be fair, not much has been revealed. She only said that yes, and?'s artwork is also one of the album coverS and a landing page has been made for the "es". Everything else we know has been from other sources/insiders. I feel like if the album was coming next week or even in two weeks we would have known already.
