I think in 2015 this happened with instagram, that people noticed that @ adele had been created but it was blank for a while 

 

and i remember seeing tiktok ads with that exact handle when they launced EOM but when clicking on it, it said page unavailable. So maybe it's been privately used by Sony, and only made public now.
