Stupid love is a cute girl, but a bit underwhelming for a Gaga's first single tbh

Onward was really a beautiful film, it had me in tears during all the second half :weeps:

The CW's darker and more grown-up spin on "Nancy Drew" is exactly what i like and suprised with many twists and turns. Another surprise was the new superhero show "Stargirl", which, after a rough start, became my favorite Arrowverse show this year. "Grey's Anatomy" still delivers quality after 17 years and while these are not the best seasons of the show, i like how they tackle the pandemic this season. Even if they used the same twist as the first season and only switched up the characters, the second season of "Dead To Me" was still pure entertainment.

I am just a big fan of disaster movies and they always get to me, especially movies about asteroids, because it's one of my childhood fears that one would hit us one day. And "Greenland" was really well done. Having the next movie so high on the list might be a little controversial, but i love horror and enjoy all these pg-13 teen horror flicks and "Countdown" of the better ones, in my opinion. The korean movie "The Flu" is technically from 2013, but because of the pandemic and because we didn't had many new movies when we openend back up in July, a german movie distributor decided to marketed this as a new movie and i really liked it. It felt very realistic and only got a little over the top in the end. And "Harriet" told a really moving story and had an amazing cast.

i haven't watch Legends of Tomorrow yet so i kinda shocked that they're now at season 5 already. Maybe i'll catch up later. There's so many superhero theme tv series lately ddd

I'm interested with Onward and especially Guns Akimbo since that Daniel Radcliffe's pointing gun meme became a massive viral nnn

Really? i didn't know that the Daniel meme was so big. :fan: LoT is one of my favorites, if you get past the mediocre first season. It's definitely the most fun show out of the Arrrowverse.

Gretel & Hänsel is more visually interesting, but it is worth a watch.

One of my favorite shows in recent years, "How To Get Away With Murder", ended in 2020 and i did go out with a bang. The show delivered a satisfying finale, which i wasn't sure they would be able to pull off. But they did it. This "San Junipero"-like show called "Upload" captivated me from start to finish and has a very interesting premise. The last part of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is only two days away and if it delivers the same quality as the first part of the second season, it's gonna be a blast. And with only four episodes in 2020, "The Good Place" still made it into the top 10, because it delivered one of the best and most beautiful series finales i've ever seen.

If i remember correctly, "Driveways" was the last movie i watched in a cinema this year and i am glad i ended on a high note. This movie is so simplistic, yet so beautiful and heartwarming. Anthology horror movies are often pretty mediocre, but not "The Mortuary Collection", which delivered some laughs and some scares. It's basically the 2020 version of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark", but less childish and way gorier. I usually don't cry in public and always can hold it back in movie theaters, but "Babyteeth" really managed to make me cry. The next movie was actually way higher for the most part of 2020, but thinking back on "1917", it actually only had its INCREDIBLE cinematography and score going for it, while the storyline was pretty basic and didn't got to me emotionally.

"The Haunting of Bly Manor" was definitely different than Hill House and i needed more time to get used to it, but this season really stuck with me, even after it ended. I liked the "Snowpiercer" movie, but already thought back then that this would work even better as a TV show with more time to explore this world and the characters and i was right. Can't wait for the second season. It took me weeks to get through the second season of "Absentia", so i didn't watch the third season right after its release. When i did start though, i was hooked. A thrilling ride from start to finish and definitely the best season of the show.

"Unhinged" is exactly the movie you would expect it to be and yet, it was absolutely thrilling. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Considering its very real and serious topic, it needs a lot of talent to pull off a movie like "Jojo Rabbit" and make it funny and heartwarming, without feeling exploitative and disrespectful. And Taika Waititi DID pull it off. Critics were really harsh on the "Charlie's Angels" reboot/sequel, but it absolutely loved it. It was a little more serious and less campy than the movies with Cameron Diaz, but still fun to watch and i honestly prefer it. And "Waves" is basically the movie version of "Euphoria" and we all know amazing that show is.

"Don't Let Go" is a decent Blumhouse sci-fi thriller with a uncle/niece relationshop that really got to me emotionally. The remake of "Mulan" wasn't very well recieved, but i actually enjoyed it. But maybe that's because i don't have that nostalgic feeling for the original. While many criticized the lack of witches in "Witches in the Woods", i actually thought the lack of explanation worked in favor of the movie and made the feeling of paranoia more intense. With no new episodes of "Black Mirror" in sight, movies like "Black Box" are always welcome,  especially if it has such likeable characters and a good twist.

While i couldn't really connect to the characters in "Bloodline", the score and cinematography were amazing and some of the violent scenes really hit hard. Lulu Wilson and Kevin James both give convincing performances in the suprisingly gory home-invasion thriller "Becky". The psychological thriller "Daniel Isn't Real" also has some good performances and takes a surprising dive in the horror genre in its second half. And "Sputnik" was exactly the kind of sci-fi horror that i like.

Top 50 TV Shows

TV-Shows-1-3

My top 3 makes clear what i like in an TV show: a strong female lead. Or in case of "Killing Eve", we have to strong leads. This show became an instant favorite for me back in 2018 and Villanelle is just one of the best characters on TV right now. Kaley Cuoco proved that she can also play a more serious role in "The Flight Attendant", which was not only captivating from start to finish, but also really fun. And another murder mystery made its way to the top. Legend Nicole Kidman starred in the limited series "The Undoing" and it is literally a masterpiece.

"Birds of Prey" has a stellar cast, an amazing soundtrack and is just so much fun. We all love a good murder mystery and "Knives Out" delivered just that. Full of twists and turns, the movie is fun, fast-paced and has a great cast and it's especially leading lady Ana De Armas who shines the most. While the movie "Just Mercy" didn't offer any surprises in the script, it really got to me emotionally and stuck with me long after the credits rolled. And the long-awaited Christopher Nolan movie "Tenet" didn't disappoint (me) and was such a great and mind-bending experience.

But horror is MY genre and of course, there is one movie that outshined all of the other ones in 2020 and it is: THE INVISIBLE MAN. The trailer really made it look like it would be a typical, mediocre Blumhouse horror flick, but it was so much more. The tension in the opening scene alone got my anxiety level to the rough and it just got even more intense from there. Elisabeth Moss gave a incredible performance and i also have to point out the sound design, which was fantastic and really deserves an Oscar. Also, the restaurant scene felt like a gutpunch and will probably stick with me forever.

While the humor was a little over the top and try-hard, i did have fun watching "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" and really liked the ending twist. "Archive" kinda reminded me of "I Am Mother", but focused more on the drama and really managed to get me emotionally attached to roboters. While the ending wasn't entirely great, the korean Netflix movie "The Call" was very enjoyable and like a better version of the 90s movie "Frequency". The next movie is "Possessor" and it's the kind of movie that i wasn't crazy about when i watched it, but it really, really stuck with me.

The cast in "Bombshell" was great and looked amazing, but the movie could've been fantastic, if it would've digged a little deeper. It wasn't the emotional gutpunch that a movie like this should be. "The Room" was another "Twilight Zone" thriller that kinda reminded me of "Vivarium", which also came out in 2020, just better and less convoluted. The next movie was just a wild trip and looked visually stunning. Of course, i am talking about "Color Out Of Space", which started pretty normal and turned into complete madness. It's nice to have a mainstream LGBTQ+ horror movie and "Spiral" was very well done and the cinematography was nice, but there is just something off-putting about Jeffrey-Bowyer Chapman

Yes, Hill House is a masterpiece and i also prefer it, but Bly Manor was also good, just different. And i think some people are just too harsh on it, because they expected the same.
