Some might think that it has to be impossible that the TVD universe still can serve quality after all these years, but the second spin-off "Legacies" proves otherwise. In its best moments the show reminds me of "Buffy", in its weakest moments it's just like any other CW teen show. "The Flash" still has interesting storys to tell, but this season might have been the weakest ... and not only because it was cut short. Another superhero show, "Black Lightning", is also still going strong, but the main character is clearly overshadowed by his two daughters, who should lead the show. And let's continue with another, a little different, superhero show - the phenomenon "The Boys". Still delivered entertainment and quality in its second season, but didn't manage to reach the same highs as the previous season.

"Lucy In The Sky" was actually very captivating, but makes some tonal shifts that felt totally off. The long-awaited horror X-Men movie "The New Mutants" wasn't as awful as people make it out to be. It definitely wasted much potential, but in its best moments, it reminded me of "Nightmare On Elm Street". I am not a big fan of gay movies, to be honest, but "Stage Mother", while full of clichés, was actually pretty cute and heartwarming, but felt also very shallow sometimes. And the remake of "The Witches" wasn't perfect, but pretty fun and inoffensive.

I totally agree about Legacies being able to serve quality after the last 2 seasons of TVD and The Originals went bad.  It's a breathe of fresh air. The Flash is still good compared to its Arrowverse counterparts has the best stories and special effects. Black Lightning is great and yeah I love Anyssa and Jenn and they make the show it's too bad this is the final season.

Literally no one asked for another TWD Spin-Off, but we got one anyway with "The Walking Dead: World Beyond", which only picked up the pace in the last two episodes. Too little, too late. "Fuller House" finally came to an end. It was cute for a while, but i am glad that it's over. I obviously love the concept of "The Twilight Zone", but the episodes were pretty hit or miss. And "Riverdale" is just a mess. But it's my mess.

Although we live in a pandemic, i feel very blessed that i was still able to watch fifty movies in the movie theater this year. But obviously not every movie was good, so here we have my flop 3. I love the first three american Grudge movies, but the new "The Grudge" movie failed miserably and barely felt like it belonged to the franchise. It's like they wanted to recreate the first one and forgot that it's not 2004 anymore. Movies like "I Still Believe" usually work for me, but this "The Fault In Our Stars" rip-off lacks soul and depth. The religious undertones were annoying and K.J. Apa just doesn't have the range to lead a movie. And "Brahms: The Boy II" could've been decent, if it wouldn't have completely destroyed everything that made the original so great.

I hate that I love Riverdale :bibliahh:.  No matter how the stories are ridiculous I can't help but watch.  The best guilty pleasure I guess.  I think I just like the characters alot.  I am also curious how they tackle a 7 yr flash forward.. I havent seen a single new movie this year except I Still Believe lol.  I had too because of K.J.

So, i decided to continue with my Top 50 Crownnote Countdown of 2020. For those who don't know what this is: Crownnote is a website, where you can post your weekly chart and a song gets points for every position. As an example: The number #1 gets 10.000 points, i think. So, this countdown will look a little different than my official one, which is based on plays and also counts in remixes and different versions. Like on the first update, "Drinks" by CYN is only on #50, because it didn't had the highest peak and while it was twenty weeks on the chart, it barely spend time in the top 20. And "Me Gusta" by Anitta didn't even made the offical Top 100, but got enough points to made it in the Crownnote Top 50. Another reason for posting it is that i only have movies and tv shows left and i think that more people will comment on music. :oh:

"9-1-1" is basically like "Grey's Anatomy", just with firefighters and cops. It's overly dramatic and i love that. I never really watched the original, but i enjoy "Roswell, New Mexico" and the second season had some interesting storylines. The next show is one where i absolutely LOVE the original and i get that people hate the new "Charmed", but i think it's pretty fun and barely anything like the original, which makes it easy to not compare them. Also, Abigail kinda reminds me of Katherine from TVD, my favorite female villain. And while i'm not a big fan of gay movies or tv shows, i liked "Love, Simon" and i think that i like "Love, Victor" even more. It has some great characters and the show is actually really captivating.

Top 50 Movies (Cinema)

Movies-Cinema-33-30

This is probably a controversial update. "After We Collided" is obviously not a masterpiece. It's very repetitive and some moments feel completely random and not fleshed out. But it's also pretty fun and i think Tessa and Hardin have good chemistry. People just like to hate on these people because they think that makes them look cool. Another critical flop is "Fantasy Island", which was really all over the place, but also very entertaining. "Train to Busan" is one of my favorite Zombie movies, so i had high hopes for "Peninsula", but was kinda disappointed. In the first movie, i really cared for the characters, but in the sequel, they are really bland and the setting make the zombies feel like less of a threat. But, it's far from a bad movie, especially in the zombie subgenre and looked atleast better as the first one. And "The Wretched" was a nice, little horror hit and while i enjoyed it and thought it was technically well done, it also felt like something was missing.

I mean, i "like" Riverdale, too. It's just so messy and cringey sometimes. Lili Reinhart really carries the whole show on her back.

"Supergirl" is still one of my favorite shows in the Arrowverse and season 5 was definitely a step up from the fourth season. Only three episodes from the final season of "Arrow" count for the 2020 Best Of, but that was enough to get the show into the Top 25. They did go out with a bang and gave us a taste of the possible spin-off, that i want to watch so bad, but i guess that it is not going to happen. "The 100" is one of these rare shows that constantly delivered quality and only got better with time, giving us its best season yet in 2019. The final season was a step down and had some issues, but overall, it was a satisfying ending. And the horror anthology "Tell Me a Story" is very underrated and i think the second season was even better than the first.

Top 50 Movies (Cinema)

Movies-Cinema-29-26

Kristen Stewart gives a mesmerizing performance in the biopic "Seberg" and while it starts off a little boring, it gets more captivating along the way. "A Nice Girl Like You" is a funny and light-hearted rom-com with some charming performances, even though it gets a little too cheesy in the end. Also great chemistry between the leads had "Queen & Slim", but the further the story progressed, the more predictable and constructed it got. Sci-Fi horror is my favorite subgenre and "The Beach House" delivered some good pratical effects and really beautiful shots.

With its ninth season, "The Walking Dead" got a second life and while the tenth season wasn't as strong, it was still better than anything in the seventh and eigth season. It's rare that a spin-off tops the original, but "9-1-1: Lone Star" kinda did THAT. One of my favorite shows in the Arrowverse, "Legends of Tomorrow" served another fun season and so did "Dynasty", which still delivers some juicy drama and hilarious bitchfights.

"Homecoming" was one of the biggest surprises of 2020. While the first season was alright, they really stepped up their game with the second season, also thanks to an amazing performance from Janelle Monáe. Another example of a spin-off being superior to the original was "Fear the Walking Dead" this season. This show is really something else. It completely reinvented itself in the fourth season and changed almost the whole main cast, which is often a death sentence, but really worked here. Then, it delivered one of the worst seasons in the whole TWD Universe, but came back stronger than ever with its sixth season and even made Morgan likeable. The first season of "Batwoman" was surprisingly fun, especially because of the character Alice, who is basically a female version of the Joker. And "Station 19" is still not as good as "Grey's Anatomy", but it's getting close. The characters grew on me a lot and some of the season 3 episodes were better than the original show, but the fourth season kinda falls flat so far, except for the midseason finale.

Top 50 Movies (Cinema)

Movies-Cinema-21-18

Movies-Cinema-25-22

I watched "Gretel & Hänsel" three times this year and every time, i liked it a little bit more. Weak script, but the visuals and score are amazing. I am not a big fan of german movies, but "Granny Nanny" was really cute and fun. The title made the next movie seem like a teen pg-13 horror flick, but "The Empty Man" is actually quite decent, but gets a little convoluted at the end. And as if 2020 wasn't bleak enough, we got the movie "The Lodge", which is not only visually stunning, but also pretty dark and twisted.

I will always think about "Onward" as the last movie i've watched pre-pandemic, before the cinemas closed for the first time. And i was a pretty good and cute movie. When i watched "Underwater" for the first time, i had so, so many problems with it, but that is another movie that grew on me over time and i think it is actually pretty terrifying. "The Conductor" was one of the biggest surprises for me. The movie has a few problems, like the length, the cheesiness in some parts and the lack of subtlety, but the charming lead actress make this movie work and has the right amount of vulnerability and bad bitch energy. And "Guns Akimbo" was pretty stupid, but stupid fun and had a really good time with it. I also never seen Daniel Radcliffe as hot, but that movie kinda changed that and Samara Weaving was a total badass, as always.

People only hate on the remake because of nostalgia, like always. I don't think the remake was better, but also not that horrible and i even liked some aspects more.

The New Mutants wasn't great, but also not that horrible either. But i am also less negative about movies than most people and never understand some ratings, like when people only give one star. That always feels too harsh. No movie is THAT bad.
