This is so good and a perfect fit for the round. Thanks for submitting! Supaspaz - 10 - Let God Be Thirsty Fruity - 10 - Yup yup yup. Locked Out of Heaven - Bruno Mars Astro - 9.5 - Wow, this shows I’ve never paid attention these lyrics. Solid entry. Clue - 9 - This works pretty well. Dylan - 9 - This didn’t immediately pop into my head but I like it a lot for this round. Supaspaz - 10 - Bruno has never been better than this The Police cosplay. Fruity - 9 - Banger, and yeh this works really well. Sanctify - Years & Years Astro - 9.5 - I despise their music, but at least it works for this round. I really wish I could give it a 0 though <3 Clue - 10 - God their music is so bad. This is great for the round, though. Dylan - 9.5 - This song is horribly noisy given the title but it’s a total lyrical fit. Supaspaz - 10 - Homosexuality as spiritual salvation. The power that that has. The international implications that that has! Fruity - 9.5 - There’s a lot going on here - whew! I’m horny. Pray - Ryan Vasquez Astro - 10 - What in the generic ****? The production sucks, but at least the lyrics work! Clue - 10 - This is incredibly bad, but it fits perfectly. Dylan - 10- This guy has one song out and it’s THIS? Hahaha. That’s so cool. It’s like a slightly country song about bodily fluids. Love love love. Supaspaz - 10 - Why does this one make me feel kind of icky? Fruity - 10 - Omg. Hot! Clue - 10 - Perfect. Dylan - 9.5 - The round might as well have been titled this. Supaspaz - 10 - The communion blessing is a brilliant touch. Fruity - 9.5 - She snapped. Samson - Regina Spektor Astro - 5 - Well, there’s a vague mention, but other than that, it’s kind of just… Not what we wanted. At least it’s pretty! Clue - 5 - We needed more sex. The bible references were there, but that was about it. Dylan - 4 - This song is good! But I don’t really think it fits the round much. There’s a few lines that are attributed to religion but not in the way the round asks for. It’s sad more than sensual or worshipful. Supaspaz - 5 - Sex is suggested in the second verse to carry the story along, but otherwise the connection is not there. Genius informs me the Samson and Delilah allegory may actually be about her boyfriend dying of cancer. Yikes! Fruity - 4 - Hmmm… Well the song is not really about sex. It’s kind of only very weakly suggested, but as a complete side point. Flesh Is The Law - Genitorturers Astro - 10 - sdfjsdjklfslkd what in the **** i-... Yes, I’m stanning LMAO. Clue - 10 - Purr. Dylan - 10 - Oh my god, you are the best. Whoever you are. Supaspaz - 10 - Nnnnn I screamed. What the hell is this? Fruity - 9 - Well. This was quite grotesque lmao, but I enjoyed reading it kinda. It missed a 10 because other songs went a bit harder with the religious subtext. Milk & Honey - Jessarae Astro - 10 - Probably the second best so far after Florence ngl. Clue - 10 - Another one in the basket. Dylan - 10 - Closest entry to the example. Supaspaz - 10 - Not just full of biblical imagery. It actually sounds like a gospel hymn. Fruity - 10 - Good job! Like a Prayer - Madonna Astro - 10 - What clue said tbh. This is THE song one should try to send for a round like this. Clue - 10 - The way that I would’ve immediately ran to send this as a player. Dylan - 10 - First thing I thought of. Supaspaz - 10 - I mean, duh. Fruity - 9 - I think this song would’ve jumped to a lot of people’s minds when they read the round description, and it’s a great fit. When you read between the lines, it’s obvious she’s likely talking about sucking dick... but it could definitely be more explicit, or interpreted differently. Holy - Zolita Astro - 8 - I think it could be a little more in my face, somewhat like most of the entries, but it does attempt. Clue - 9 - Yup. Could use a little more sex. The sex was there, but not as obvious as some of the other songs. Dylan - 8 - Yeah, this works though probably stronger in the first verse than anywhere else. Supaspaz - 8 - The sex connection is not quite as, ahem, explicit here as some of the other entries. Beyond the first verse, she could be singing about a relationship more generally. Clue - 10 - This sent me. Dylan - 9 - Good good good. Supaspaz - 10 - Okay, it’s really Pride week up in here. Fruity - 8 - This was a pretty good fit. I really wanted like an explicit reference to a sexual act beyond the word “naked”, but it was pretty loose. Also, that outro is weird as hell. Luv the gays embracing going to hell, tho! Church - Chase Atlantic Astro - 9 - It’s very… what the others said, but it works I guess. Clue - 10 - Disgusting song, but it’s perfect. Dylan - 9 - Lmao I hate this song!!! Supaspaz - 10 - Yuck. This is some toxic masculinity. Fruity - 9 - It was uncomfortable for sure but fits pretty well. God Is A Woman - Ariana Grande Astro - 10 - Yes. We love sex and religion and a song to power bottom to. Yes, I said what I said. *Nicki Minaj Roaches Voice* BOTTOMS. Clue - 10 - Actually perfect. I was going to comment about there not being enough references to religion, but when I looked at the lyrics, there were actually a lot more references than I thought. They were kinda hidden. Which is super clever. Dylan - 9 - This is something that I thought would be an easy 10 but it’s actually not the BEST entry this round. Still a very nice choice. Supaspaz - 8.5 - Beyond the title, she doesn’t build out the theme as much as some of the other entries. Fruity - 9 - Tasteful submission!!! Both elements were there, in a kind of fluffy way, but it hits the mark. Coming Down - Halsey Astro - 9 - I mean, essentially, this song is about comparing Matty Healy of the 1975 to God and the Devil because, well, its 18 year old Halsey, and while she does make note of the fact she seems to be in love with him, their relationship is built entirely on sex. Every little detail keeps falling back to them ****ing, at least that’s how it seems for me. Clue - 9 - Could use a bit more sex, but it was pretty close to perfection. Dylan - 7 - I think this works very well lyrically from a religious perspective but it’s lacking the sexual part of this theme. There’s a few lyrics out there but it’s mostly just comparing a lover to a god rather than talking explicitly about devotion. It works okay. Supaspaz - 7 - Halsey compares her lovers to religious figures, but there’s no real sexual-spiritual connection here. Fruity - 8.5 - Kind of edgy and typical Halsey to go for the devil + demon imagery rather than the more obvious positive comparisons. Luv that for her. Works pretty well for me! I see the sex referenced a fair bit. Legendary Lovers - Katy Perry Astro - 10 - Ah yes, a sex song with *Katy Perry in that one interview* a little curry in it. Really though, this is about John Mayer’s magical dick that opens her third eye and what not. Makes her lotus bloom, which is code for orgasming or something. Where is Bonnie McKee? Ask her. Clue - 10 - Perfect. Dylan - 10 - I normally automatically think of pop girl songs that work well for each round. This one didn’t come to mind. But, I love it and it’s different than most of the entries this round that are a little more based around shock value. Supaspaz - 8 - Interesting, I think this the only entry this week to touch on imagery from Eastern spirituality. Could use a touch more of it, though. Fruity - 9 - This was refreshingly different from the other entries! Great choice. Final results incoming...
