It would be like how Taylor got credit on Untouchable for moving sections of the song around, changing some lyrics/melodies, etc compared to Luna Halo's version. Or like when a rapper gets added to the songwriting credits for getting on a new verse. no i looked it up and u r right but since im old i kno da original and actually prefer Legend Dennis version better i was jus listening to CGYOOMH and was jsu stating dat Cathy Dennis did dat thank you for this

To this day I still haven't quite figured out the structure of that song. Where's the verse? where's the chorus? post-chorus? Everything is just a damn hook and it works!

Ash12345 Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) 38. Ryan Tedder Points: 28,297 Producer and song-writer Ryan Tedder had his start in the music industry when he got an internship with DreamWorks SKG singing on demos as a young adult. In 2002, he teamed up with high school friend Zach Filkins to form OneRepublic and were joined by Eddie Fisher, Brent Kutzle and Drew Brown to complete the line-up. They were dropped by their label shortly before their debut album was ready to get released, but had already built up a following on MySpace and gained the attention of Timbaland who signed them onto his label. Timbaland also employed Ryan Tedder and a songwriter and producer. Ryan Tedder's first hit was "He Said, She Said" by Ashley Tisdale (#77 in 2007), which was followed by OneRepublic's debut single "Apologize" which became a huge smash hit. OneRepublic's debut album, "Dreaming Out Loud" was released in 2007, produced by Ryan Tedder, Timbaland and Greg Wells, and with the songs either solo-writter by Ryan Tedder or co-written with his band mates. The success of "Apologize" made him an in-demand songwriter and producer, and he had several hits with a variety of pop artists in the following years including Adele, Leona Lewis, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Natasha Bedingfield and Jordin Sparks. That continued into the mid and late 2010s, as he continued to have hits both with OneRepublic such as smash hit "Counting Stars", and as a songwriter and producer for other artists, with songs like "Ghost", "Maps" and "Sucker". He also had a few songs as a featured solo artist, like "Never Let You Go" with B.o.B. and "Rocketeer" with Far East Movement. Maybe she's having a hard time a hard time getting cuts with big artists now that Katy's not as big as she used to be (and they're no longer working together)? She's still releasing droplets for her solo career on Spotify.

Fitzswiftie Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 It won’t make much (if any) difference overall but John Mayer’s cover of XO also charted.

Ash12345 Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 37. Brian Holland Points: 29,100 One of the three members of production and songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland, Brian Holland was primarily involved in working on the arrangements and production for the trio's songs. Born in Detroit, Brian Holland and his songwriting/production trio was one of the biggest forces behind the city's Motown sound. His first few hits were written independently from the trio however, with the first one being "All The Love I Got" by Marv Johnson (#63 in 1960), co-written with Janie Bradford and Motown founder Berry Gordy, which was followed by 1961's #1 hit "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes. "Please Mr. Postman" brought him more success a few years ago when it was interpolated in Portugal. The Man's smash hit "Feel It Still". After a couple more hits including #7 hit "Playboy" (also by The Marvelettes), he began writing almost exclusively with Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. He also released some music as a solo artist and a member of a couple different vocal groups, but by far his greatest success was as a behind the scenes hit-maker, with a total of fifteen #1 hits on the Hot 100 charts. Most streamed Hot 100 hits on Spotify 761m - Feel Is Still (Portugal. Ash12345 Posted January 29, 2020 Author Posted January 29, 2020 36. Kenny Gamble Points: 29,167 The second half of songwriting and production duo Gamble & Huff, Kenny Gamble has written six #1 hits and 23 top 10 hits. He got his start in the music running and record store and as an assistance for radio DJs, and as a member of the vocal group "The Romeos". He was discovered by Jerry Ross in the early 60s and wrote his first hit with him, "Everybody Monkey" by Freddy Cannon (#52 in 1963). After teaming up with Leon Huff in 1966, they had an impressive string of hits together, with the careers culminating with the development of Philadelphia Soul in the 1970s. The genre took influence from traditional pop, R&B and funk music, often with lush arrangements that included strings and brass, and typically featured heavy bass and driving percussion. The Philadelphia sound became the most popular form of soul music in the early 70s as Motown's popularity began to decline, and it was one of the major influences that influenced the sound of disco music. Gamble & Huff's label, Philadelphia International Records, continued to churn out hits until the mid 80s. One Kenny Gamble's later hits, "Love, Need and Want You" by Patti LaBelle (#10 on R&B charts, N/A on Hot 100) was famously sampled on Nelly's "Dilemma", earning him his last #1 hit as a songwriter. His music was also sampled on other popular songs like T.I's "Bring 'Em Out" and Nelly's "My Place". Most streamed Hot 100 hits on Spotify 319m - Dilemma (Nelly feat.
