We'll know by tomorrow morning's update if Benson is getting the #1. If SIHFSE gets a positive update, it's pretty much a done deal. The last song to reach the Pop Top 3 but not reach #1 on either Billboard or Mediabase remains What It Is in late summer 2023.

It would be strange if Bensons label decides not to push SIHFSE anymore on radio just a few days before the album release but who knows at this point...

If it wasn't because of RCA's 'push' last week, "Sports car" couldn't have done that and it was clearly shown over this week. It may have reached at #2 on their own or being blocked at #3. Who knows?

This isn't 2017-2019 anymore, when you can get +400 or +500 spin updates on end, and peak at 19k or 20k spins.

the problem is that a song like Sports Car shouldnt even need payola to reach #1.
