Why is Mariahs E=Mc^2 #1 on iTunes albums currently? Did I miss something or is it just the because it’s on sale?

As of now, with all versions combined, "Savage" is ideally aiming for 93k sales in its first week, which will obviously not happen since its bound to drop in a few hours, but if it keeps steady throughout the week it could end up selling ~50k first week.

 

As for the tracking week that ends tonight, "Savage" might top the Digital Sales chart with ~20k pure sales.

I seriously don't get why they wasted all the first hours' hype releasing on Wednesday.

Insane. more than 20K sales most likely which today is HIGH, and a day and a half of number 1 streaming song... no reason. Just being dumb, when the number 1 is pretty weak anyway already, they could have planned it way better.

Do you have to redeem the album for it to count for Billboard, or does it automatically count?

not redeem for merch bundle. only ticket bundle has that redeem transaction system.

this is why billboard added + extra price rule for album to distinguish active sales.

got it. so i ordered 2 signed cds + 2 shirts with digital albums today. So 4 albums total I guess.

 

Do I have to do anything else for those 4 albums to count?

not really. but to make sure download the album 1 time for each. they will send you download link to your email.

nope. bundle are counted only once. and those +digital is 1 digital sales.

physicals are reported when they're shipped, so all those recent physical product with "shipped 3 month later" are meant to be counted 3 month later, but label saw loophole in billboard. added "+digital" as bundle. so now they are reported as 1 digital sales right away and no more sales.

Maybe Nicki Minaj will be credited after all because now there are 2 remix versions in the top 4 of itunes. The thing is that today is the last day of the tracking week and the original probably has more streaming points which are always bigger than sales points. And radio points are also for the original version.
