yes + gaga always talked about how the fame and the fame monster are like a yin and yang conceptually, they're opposites but with an element of complementarity

And btw her impact comercial-wise in Brazil was and still is enormous after the concert, which is a substantial proof of its success... Mayhem is currently in its 17th week as the most played international album in Brazil's Spotify

She said it herself in the Las Culturistas podcast, something like "I thought the song was too pop for the album" lol

the floor walking choreography in killah was IT btw, such a kooky and fun moment

this is her best SNL alongside with 2009's SNL... 2013 and 2016 vanished into obscurity i fear

I remember circa pre-Joanne when she was working with nile rodgers and some fans were automatically starving for a disco album, specially when some engineer used the tag #funkthepunk related to her work with nile... well mayhem is sonically her funk the punk era lol

this and i also have a feeling that p4k has a lot of good will towards gaga but they utimately don't understand her kind of artisticity / held some expectations that has nothing to do with who she is as an artist

The only "safe" song (lirically and a bit sonically) is How Bad Do U Want Me but I think it'll maybe grow on me later, it's a cute song though. Mayhem's a straight crazy nostalgic album with REAL attention to detail (production, arrangement and lyrics), but i think some people - especially those not very used with her artistic approach - can get a bit annoyed by her vocals cause she's giving like 200% in almost every track (which for me is not a bad thing at all, it makes every song sound like a punch right in the face and I love it).

the funkier bits are the best, like, zombieboy is straight a career highlight i just can't deal
