Gaga had every promo slot ever for MR and it peaked at the same spot as CTTR (#4), but fell out of the top ten after one week. And PI was heavily promoted as well, and we see how that ended up. Katy's second single isn't even out yet.

So when Gaga does this with a Mark Ronson-produced dance-pop record with several weeks of discounts and major promo, it's a huge success but when Lana does it in pure sales (with an extra million pure WW and 450 million streams on Spotify) with Ultraviolence, a dark, slow, desert rock album with zero promo...it's not. K.
