  1. ddd yeah, don't know why I didn't manage to clear the reply box. Those were leftovers from Saturday? I think, when I was first meant to do this, but something came up. The server was acting up so I never actually posted. Anyway, just ignore my entry. Hopefully at least some ppl found it enjoyable.
  2. I completely forgot about this. Sorry.
  3. Just sent something. Tried to avoid the most obvious options.
  4. Sent. Some of the songs really benefited from a second listen. Even swapped my #1. And song 3 sunk even further. Don't know what has happened, but it's become unbearable, really. I could see myself getting zero points. Don't know what I was thinking on a round that was guaranteed to be filled with classics and fan favorites. I hardly like my entry myself. Rooting for the Scandis.
  5. Yeah, this round was pretty pointless. Anyway...
  6. Just sent. Will try to comment on the next bunch should I make it through. Hate that sent PMs don't show up in Messages until replied to.
  7. And I've been seeing somebody, but I've not found a way to tell you that I'm seeing somebody. There's not a nice way for me to say that I've been seeing somebody. You know I want you to be happy since I'm seeing somebody, and then maybe we can get on with it. This earworm has got me hooked.
  8. How come I had never heard song 7 before? Props to whoever sent it.
  9. About to send. Wasn't crazy about the round in general. The start was awful, but it got better towards the middle, after which it just kind of dwindled away. Pretty happy with the songs that'll be getting points from me, though.
  10. ... 21 - So-so. [2] 22 - Not bad at all. 23 - Middle of the pack. 24 - It's okay-ish, but didn't leave much of an impression. Pretty standard for them. 25 - Keep them coming. This is a remix, right? 26 - Nice and dreamy. 27 - Surprisingly long. Kept my interest until the very end, though. 28 - Alright. 29 - This has definitely moments of greatness, but I'm not convinced they were quite enough to carry the song its entire length. The way the males snatched, though. Took 4 spots in my top 5.
  11. 1 - I quite enjoyed this. Not sure if it'll be enough for points, but I appreciate I've never heard it or likely even listened to the artist before. 2 - Expected. Without a doubt my personal fave on the album. Can't decide whether the fact that it's such an obvious and predictable choice annoys me or not. I would've certainly loved to hear something new instead, considering how I've recently been listening to this plenty on my own. 3 - I found this to be pretty vapid. The kind of a harmless, bland ballad of which there are a dime a dozen. 4 - It's fine, just fine. Remember hearing this for the first time when someone used this a while back. Don't think I ever listened to it since. 5 - It's very calming and flows seamlessly. A pleasant listen. 6 - Don't mind it, just not exactly my style. 7 - I'm probably in the minority, but this never really won me over. At least I seem to appreciate it less than the average listener. 8 - Doesn't do much, sry. It lacks some power and conviction that I feel it desperately needed. Now it comes off subdued. 9 - An interesting choice. Not sure how I feel about it. Have to digest. 10 - It had cute moments, but in overall it's underwhelming. 11 - So-so. 12 - This really shines in comparison with the past few songs. Solid entry, although it kind of deserves the same comments as song #2. 13 - Nothing special, really. 14 - It's bad. No point in sugarcoating it. 15 - An interesting choice. Not sure how I feel about it. [2] The vocals were bugging me at times, though. 16 - Yes, I ADORE their voice, and yet I still haven't bothered to take the time to listen through their discography. In fact I seem to hardly listen to them these days. 17 - Great pick. 18 - Surely they'll be banned now. It's fine, but won't be getting points. 19 - Pretty nice. The production is a bit overpowering at times. 20 - Will do, but not the song I'd have picked from the album. Will do the last third later.
  12. Considered several songs from 4 different albums for this. I just find it a bit challenging to pick a song, as I really enjoy those chilled, mellow songs that may get lost in the crowd for not instantly standing out and leaving a strong first impression. Especially now that we use the Eurovision scoring, where songs that would place in the middle are at a bit of a disadvantage against polarizing songs I would say.
  13. 17 - Honestly it's a great track. I just don't think it has a great replay value. Got over it quickly after release and haven't really listened to it since. 18 - It's cute. Somehow very pleasant, easy listening. 19 - Don't really listen to them and I'm generally very lukewarm towards the songs I hear from them, especially as of late. This is decent, however, and will likely benefit from standing out from the rest. 20 - Yeah, no. Getting through the whole duration is honestly a challenge. Not sure how someone can enjoy this, it's quite insufferable. 21 - I guess not so much standing out then. This is more poppy, though. Initially wasn't so sure, but a few choruses after I kind of warmed up to this. 22 - This sounds so dated to me, and unlike 18, there're frankly no redeeming qualities. 23 - Does nothing to me, sry. 24 - It's better than the past two, I give you that. Not much to say here. 25 - Have really enjoyed some of their recent work, but this just goes to show they have come far. It's quite bad. 26 - One of the stronger entries so far, but wouldn't listen to this by choice. 27 - Never heard this before. Somewhat like it. 28 - It's nice, I just wish it had a bit more variation (or whatever the appropriate word is) in the production. It gets a bit monotonous. 29 - Not really my cup, but given the number of songs likely getting points. 30 - A bit repulsive. No thanks. 31 - Not much to report. No strong feelings of either side of the spectrum. 32 - You know what, now I feel somewhat silly for what I said about them earlier, as come to think of it I have always liked this song. I guess it's the one exception. I feel like there's a huge difference between my 10th and 11th ranked song, so that cut off point feels justified.
  14. To make things more interesting, the album's MC score should be used to create a point multiplier. Like (65 - MC score) * points received. A TWIST.
  15. Why am I so lazy? Have hardly ever paid attention to Metacritic scores and don't feel like putting in the work.
  16. Well, my stance has been made known, but the change would be nice. I think it might encourage more ppl to venture outside the more obvious, safe choices. Should we opt for the change, in that case I think the responsibility to abide by the new rule and its charting limits should solely lie with the contestant. For one, there would no longer be any ambiguity and secondly it would be obviously too much work for the host. With that responsibility, I feel like there should then be a known penalty for submitting ineligible songs as to avoid any potential "issues". Not trying to be stickler for rules, I'd just think everyone would appreciate the clarity. That's all. Based on the reviews, it's doubtful if I even get to see these potential new rules in place.
  17. But 8's chorus is simply put unbearable. Bottom 3 of the 36 songs without a doubt. Clearly I'm in the wrong crowd.
  18. But what if I want to be indie. Not everyone is relevant enough to have a Wiki page, let alone one that gets updated on a regular basis. Even when some of these artists announce new music they use "song" and "single" interchangeably.
  19. It actually might be worth considering giving up the single restriction rule, given how the industry has changed and artists keep dropping individual songs for streaming every once in a while, and rather focus on the song's success/chart performance. Say, no song that has charted in the top 20/50 in any of the major markets plus maybe the artist's home country. Sure, I guess it could be a challenging rule to follow. But the game is really at its core a means to discover new music, while having a little competition on the side or at least that's how I see it. And if a standout track by someone hardly anyone has ever heard about happens to be technically a single, I wouldn't honestly mind it. Actually, the game could benefit from that.
  20. What a choice! A bit random, just something I ran into quickly and was satisfied with. I would've been better equipped for this round back when I had an up-to-date iTunes library and could have simply sorted the tracks. Now it's trickier, since I gave in to the convenience and started using Spotify pretty much exclusively. Can't remember when I downloaded an actual music file the last time.

  22. Accidentally, you say. I say intentionally cuz you were pressed for the measly points you got from me. jk obs
  23. Congrats to @Loyalty, even if you actually performed worst out of all the finalists as far as my ranking is concerned , and thanks @mxtthewdelrey for hosting. Until next time.
  24. Thanks to whoever sent song 9 for making me give it another chance. Our initial encounter wasn't much of a success and I moved on v quickly. Added it to my playlist and been enjoying it a lot lately. Hope you win.
