Uptown Funk deserved to be the one that broke the record, as it was bigger all around (UF broke streaming consistency records while at #1). But, as I predicted after UF failed 2+ years ago, I said some song before the end of the 2010s would at least tie ODS if not break the record. Maybe some song will replace Despacito before 2019 ends. That being said, with Despacito STILL selling 80k+ units a week and with over 2 M sold, it will be interesting to see if it might could get a streaming-heavy Diamond Certification. Despacito will probably max out no higher than 3.5 M, at the highest end. But it could get the almost 1 B streams needed to make up for the remaining 6.5 M in sales. That's quite a range. And her collab with Kenny Chesney was far and away the best Country/Non-Country paring last year. Despacito so many weeks later effortlessly continues to top the chart.
