Aurora Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 waiT I just took a leaf out of @Hug's book and switched to Blackout theme (Bonnie Anderson, her impact) and I'm kinda stanning how it makes my new avi/sig combo pop. Lemme keep it for a week (it kinda hurts my eyes tho).

Thank you ancestors for putting the flow in me Congrats Aurora and Saint West (post your song!) Nn @ this next challenge. I have no idea what to do. No rhyming + 200 words would be easier but I don’t think my writing can be good with those restrictions but we’ll see Edited October 16, 2017 by Tsareena

ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted October 16, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted October 16, 2017 "Asparagus Water" - Tsareena Spoiler [Verse 1] At my age I'm wondering how we got to this stage We stripped the desire to live like plastic dolls Changed our ways and tried to focus on healthy ways But damn it feels like it's all still the same Now we're all trying to be a specific kind of real To our Instagram followers and damn internet friends Conceal our mistakes to appeal to these damn friends Now being seen as real is just the new ideal But nothing good about this Instagram culture Just a bunch of fraudulence and culture vultures Celebrate these make believe society ruptures Who don’t do much and end up maintaining the structure Look at me Look at me I'm living my best life Travelling from city to city just partying But no one knows how much I'm really owing Look at me Look at me I'm losing so much weight I worked out and ate less and now I'm looking smaller But ignore that lap band surgery I had last October [Chorus] Folks acting like asparagus water Trying to bottle up nothing for a pretty dollar But they don’t know that we know That it’s all for show You can try to deny but we all know the flow It’s just water So don’t bother It ain't nothing new [Verse 2] Okay so now skinny is out and thick is in right? But It's all about thickness but just in the right places We call the thick girls fat and unhealthy bitches And celebrate unnatural waists and call that realness? Oh but you know we're all woke now too No racism on your timeline while you ignore real calamity Play cards against humanity and laugh at police brutality But it's cool cuz you're woke so you ain't part of the insanity And yeah we care about mental health now too Stop the bullying we tweet while you call that girl a cow And then you hear she killed herself and you’re like oh wow how Forgot the power of words and how they might have hurt her? I get it I get it I sound like a hater But I'm sick and tired of seeing the ignored murders of my trans sisters in the hand of the oppressor I get it I get it I sound like a hater But I’m sick and tired of seeing people in poverty People who work and grind then get called entitled n’ lazy [Chorus] Folks acting like asparagus water Trying to bottle up nothing for a pretty dollar But they don’t know that we know That it’s all for show You can try to deny but we all know the flow It’s just water So don’t bother It ain't nothing new [Bridge] I get it I get it I sound like I’m hating But we need to lay off the scheming Packaging nothing and selling it as everything No more pre-peeled oranges in plastic And no more damn asparagus water Drain the water and eat your asparagus Cus that’s where all the bitter truth about us lies [Chorus] Folks acting like asparagus water Trying to bottle up nothing for a pretty dollar But they don’t know that we know That it’s all for show You can try to deny but we all know the flow It’s just water So don’t bother It ain't nothing new
