The payola from being the first reaction in the sequence won't even secure her a top 5 debut

  • What's the difference between the heart reaction and the green girlie? Seems redundant

The entire reaction system is redundant and against the format of an online forum like this. It discourages discussion and incentivises mass reaction sprees when users are bothered by something but have nothing of value to add to the topic.

Three of the reactions are practically the same thing. We need more variation.

I love it. The green is very relaxing

I agree. The reaction system turned atrl into a bit of an echo-chamber. Users are actively trying to gain reputation points by being extra agreeable to get likes, ganging up on someone who is popular to hate on, or by using cheap jokes for laughs. While a certain subset of users just spams as much as they can to get points with quantity over quality. It tanked the quality of discussion on this forum so much.

We need a crying reaction and a cat reaction (the cat one is exclusive to me only)

i think we will have to wait for Lee's annual report for that but since it was released last month of this year i don't think it will sell that much so that along will make people have no hope for it but we will find if it was a fluke or mpg in the making with 2026 year report to see how much it has sold on ATRL. I wonder if higher-ups intervene and take her off from the roster tho cause the initial reception is not that positive like ATRLians are saying the new one doesn't make much sense and could be replaced. We will have to wait. Only time will tell the truth cool

The trophy and the green thumb is basically the same thing

What we really need is the clown emoji

This. Or a skull.

we need a chop ho reaction

What is Tate McRae and why do we pretend she can sing? : r/popheadscirclejerk

No. I think the reactions are dumb on a forum, which is meant to foster discussion. It's far too Reddit-like, with how it's tied to a reputation.mp3 system. And that issue with that is, you don't see unpopular opinions on Reddit unless you go out of your way to sort by controversial or expand downvoted comments. Which leads to an echo chamber since normal non-troll members don't want to be silenced or disagreed with. If you feel your viewpoint is going to lead to lower karma/reputation ordown arrows, you might just choose not to say anything on the topic.

Very much so. But the user base seems to prefer the convenience of it all for the most part. Especially the larger fanbases who mobilize to upvote/downvote.

Ironically enough, I got mass downvoted when I expressed my dislike for the system in the HQ thread before. dies

What "quality of discussion" are we even talking about when this forum is mainly just always known for malicious gay f*ggotery, unhinged people and bad-faith arguments? If anything, the like button and specifically the dislike button, gave us an effective way to shut down nonsense discussions that were bad faith arguments in the first place.

Why should we waste time engaging in an extensive debate, as if it was some magical way to come to a mutual agreement, when we know right from the get-go that the person we're talking to is gonna move the goalposts anyway. Shoot a dislike, call the person coo-coo-crazy, move on. I can handle if somebody doesn't agree with me and I'd argue that nobody here on ATRL is bothered anyway about being agreeable, people literally came and still come here to fight. Otherwise we would not have threads like SYG. michael

If we got rid of it and instead of 15 dislikes on a comment y'all had 8 people quoting you with lashings & skulldrags, we'd also never hear the end of it.

I kind of like the "I agree" button. I can definitely agree with other stans from other fandoms over political issues and build bridges that way. And it's a bit more specific than a regular "like", I interpret it as "I directly agree to the opinion/your view of the situation" while the like is a bit more personal, with personal sympathy.
