Tell me why this one American lady came all the way to an Australian shopping centre, to argue with my security guard ex that they've labelled all

their levels wrong, because she couldn't fathom that level 1 was the level ABOVE the ground floor?!!

America using the MM/DD/YYYY date format will always be the silliest thing to me. :lmao:

I know this thread is another dogpile of hating on Americans by poor Europeans barely above the poverty line but with respect to the date thing, I was able to mentally reframe this by thinking about how Americans actually say dates when talking. No one says "Today is the 12th of June", they say "Today is June 12th". If you think it like that then MM/DD/YYYY becomes easier to swallow

Jokes on you, I don't know or care about either paper dimensions

But there are some standard paper sizes like Letter, A4, Legal, A3, A2 etc

We also use these names in Mexico, whenever I hear the ones with no name I freak out cause those numbers don't mean anything to me :deadbanana4:

Generally level 1 is the ground floor in the US.  The basement is the basement.

In some other places the ground floor is level 0.

I don't know anyone who regularly cares about paper sizes.  I think 99% of people only interact with letter size.
