Weight, height, distance, area, temperature, volume, speed, clothing sizes, cooking measurements.. they literally measure everything different from the rest of the world :dies:

Except Britain where stuff is a weird eclectic mix.

I mean petrol (gas) is sold in litres and has been for decades, but distance per unit of fuel is still usually understood in miles per gallon.  Go figure.  (And the gallons aren't the same as US gallons- they're a bit bigger, just to add to the fun).

America using the MM/DD/YYYY date format will always be the silliest thing to me. :lmao:

I think we all know, YYYY/MM/DD is superior, but most of the time when discussing dates the year is assumed to be the current year so at least the American system has the same order with regards to month and day.

What makes no sense is DD/MM/YYYY

How? In what way is the month more important than the exact day or the year when providing the date?

Americans measuring systems are so whack :rip:

Why? It's perfectly logical.

Why would it not make sense? Day (fastest time measurement) / Month (middle time measurement) / Year (slowest time measurement) :michael:

Because you should lead with the number that constrains your range the most.  This is why YYYY/MM/DD is superior.  Until you know the year the range is infinity.  However in a world where the year is often assumed to be the current year, leading with month constrains the range to a 30/31 day period as opposed to day which constrains the range to an 11 month period.

See above.  The smallest unit has no context until you learn the largest unit.  So you should lead with the number that provides the greatest context.

They love those weird ass numbers.

Inches and feet take the cake tho. Next level stupid. Or temperature... nothing makes sense over there.
