tjspy Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I don't know in which substance were the first posters, but its clearly Rihanna. Culture-wise Britney was way bigger of course, but that's not what this is about.

Rihanna. around 2003, Britney transitioned from musical artist to paparazzi celebrity. it was about britney, not the music. whereas Rihanna's music has always been at the centre of her career. it was her music making waves, not her personal life Spilled. The only time that Rih's personal life was making waves was when she went through that DV situation with CB. Other than that, it was always her music and now beauty brand. 44 minutes ago, Josh said: Does Rihanna have an actual pop classic that's not Umbrella? Are you really asking if a woman who had some of the biggest pop hits of the 2010s, have any pop classics? 3

I understand that you're defending your fave, but babes let's not act dense. You can play any of the #1 songs from LOUD or We Found Love or even Diamonds and see how lit the room becomes. 1 1

TaylorsSquad Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Rihanna has more talent, acclaim, has more than just one good Album. 1 1

dumbsparce Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I think they're equal. Rihanna had way more hits and Britney had bigger album sales and tours.
RiseAndShine Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) Britney had a huge peak. She's also a better performer than Rih and probably has sold more albums too. Rihanna, however, has been consistently successful well into retirement. She has more hit songs and they have aged far better than Britney's. Edited September 1 by RiseAndShine
Namie-Knowles Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) Yeah I agree with everyone else here. Also the fact that despite it being 8 years she has 84M Spotify monthly listeners. To think she will still be around 50M+ monthly listeners even when Anti is 10 years old. Rihanna's wide catalogue of hits have how longevity. Edited September 1 by Namie-Knowles
Erreur2 La Nature Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Britney on pretty much every metric, she really dominates 1 2
ericcartman Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Obviously Rihanna. More hits and she lasted longer. Britney had a big peak but she fizzled not too long after. Even in their retired eras, Rihanna music is still being consumed.

D.M.F. has been banned for a while now, no? OT: Rihanna, her success has been consistent from 2005 - 2017, except for maybe Rated R. Britney has had some dips.
ZacXCX Posted September 1 Posted September 1 19 minutes ago, blown away said: D.M.F. has been banned for a while now, no? Well they either made a dupe or someone else took the reins for that specific task, because as predicted, they showed up. OT: After a short reflection process, I have to say it's Rihanna. But I'll vote for her when she stops being annoying with her boxers and her Cerave line.
Doctor Dick Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Britney had a way bigger peak in both commercial performance and fame but Rihanna has the better longevity. Of course, Rihanna stopped releasing in 2016 so we have no idea if she'd continue her slayage had she released a few more albums. Same way we don't know how Britney's longevity would've been had she stopped releasing post-2011 and took a long break.
Iaintsorry Posted September 1 Posted September 1 1 hour ago, politeone said: What about Britney's run of straight up flop albums? Are they compensated for by the huge two albums Well Britney still sold more albums and Rihanna sold more singles so I'm listing based on those metrics. Britney had bigger consumption earlier on and Rihanna later in her career
