Shes going on a random zoom interview with Alex cooper that no one cares about, but can't invest in big playlists which is arguably the most effective way today to expose the music to a wider audience. Her team and Capitol are still so archaic in their marketing that it's laughable tbh.

HIH became a sleeper hit because it went viral due to that high belting note in the bridge. Lifetimes is just one long chorus and doesn't have that many dynamic moments in the song. So it has no viral potential tbh.

i think what this awful rollout and just everything related to the music this era has made me realize is that i still only consume her projects out of a place of nostalgia and what she meant to me as a kid/teenager growing up. it's kinda devastating to realize you outgrew someone that used to be your every other thought back in the day. i keep rooting for her to get it together but it never happens and i think i have grown tired of it. i was so excited when she came back in 2019 with NRO because it felt fresh, full of life and a exciting natural progression for her career (even tho it was destined to "flop", i didn't care at all) but then she hit a road block and never quite recovered. the fact that i only streamed lifetimes once is lowkey so sad to me

Like what evidence is there of their friendship? She was in IKAG in 2008 and then what? They kind of sat close to each other at the 2010 VMAs but I didn't see them see close.

 

In 2017 Katy talked about Kesha in her Witness Worldwide. But even then it sounded like how I would talk about an old friend of a friend from high school. "Oh yeah... they're lovely." That was 7 years ago.
