Joyride Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 I still think this is very much a grower. and I stand by my point that what makes it stand out so much is the fact that it is very different to Espresso, so the change in sound ended up working for her instead against her. we still hate you hack antonoff, but well, this is good. 2
TryMe Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I went from hating to obsessing I play it like the radio, every f*cking hour. 4
Joyride Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 also the one liners are helping so much. "that's that me espresso" and "I'm working late, cause I'm a singer" feel like a separate movement, and so does "I beg you, don't embarrass me motherfucker" 9
Selegend Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Sabrina was always bashed for flopping so this is SOOO nice to see! i'm very happy for our girl been here since thumbs, singular act 1 is perfection, loved screaming IM SO SORRY FOR UR LOSS at the top of my lungs at the eras tour in Sao Paulo last year sorry guys i'm emotional, i kinda removed myself from pop culture those past weeks to focus on other things in my free time and i screamed when i saw her #1 and #2 today. i'm so happyyyy 6

I fuckin hate the sample police. personally I don't think this song should have any sample credited. tons of songs sound similar. probably why it's clicking so much. I don't care about samples, it just doesn't sit right with me when some credit every little detail and get dragged anyway and others like this are clear samples yet don't credit and nothing will be said.
Life Savers Posted June 11 Posted June 11 The turning in here because the song is smashing. ATRL is so predictable. 3

Tbh the album should be coming early July. No idea why it's coming late August Late August? Damn I thought it was early August. Yeah you're probably right, album should have been scheduled for July to capitalize off the momentum from the singles.

I feel like this is a hard one because it's not a clear sample of any of these. It's an amalgamation of sounds from a particular era. It's harder to tie down than some other songs that have been more direct pulls.
JT55331 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 ok ok ok, eating humble pie. This is clicking with me, the 'motherfu**er' line is addictive. Mad impressive that she is 1 and 2 in the streaming era with two huge simultaneous hits. Are there any other examples of this level of slay in the streaming era? 1

Lightbringer007 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 her lyricism always has a nice balance of "tongue n cheek" with sentimental vibes ... she's mastered it very well 3

Joyride Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 TeamSabrina is live on Stationhead promoting this song instead of Espresso now, so we're definitely in for a #1 and #2 next week. 2

Anyways Please Please Please is pretty close to #1 which is wild since it has no radio and I had some help is like half driven by radio. Edited June 11 by Poptart89

jdanton2 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 song got 7 adds at Pop radio this week according to All Access. 2
Green Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Please x3 is the one coming for #1 this week. They should push it more, it's so close. By the way they are still not predicting Feather to be top 20
emile20 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 This is reminiscent of Katy's summer of Teenage Dream the song is so fun and summery unlike others this hit me from the first listen, her spotify numbers are insane and so stable on the rise 1
