Golden Hour Posted June 7 Posted June 7 You guys are doing too much. It's cute, love the '70s influence. This is shaping up to be a cute end of summer sunset kind of album! 6
xluvxduffxmusicx Posted June 7 Posted June 7 The way her vocals are processed on the please, please, please portion of the chorus are absolutely grating. Just difficult to even listen to.
ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted June 7 ATRL Moderator Posted June 7 why does nothing flow??? like how did she go from Espresso to this where absolutely nothing rhymes or makes sense 1
OrgVisual Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Oh this is not... Yeah there's a strong 80s pop vibe. But it's so sleepy (like 937736902 other Jack Antonoff songs)
Alex Posted June 7 Posted June 7 jack antonoff produced this? i would've had no idea had i not checked the credits, his most "lively" production in years 2 1
ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted June 7 ATRL Moderator Posted June 7 That was the commercial break now it’s back to Espresso domination 1 11
Winston Posted June 7 Posted June 7 This is cute but it doesn't sound like a song that will help carve out an identity for her or the upcoming album. I'd never skip it while listening to the album, and a promo song is great to generate more interest leading up to the album so it is what it is
Walk_Away21 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 (edited) I love the "motherfucker" melody part lmao We need the Morgan Walleners to support this pop country track! Edited June 7 by Walk_Away21
Peppa31 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 It's cute for the album but I needed something stronger after Espresso
Alex Posted June 7 Posted June 7 the Little Carpenters will refer to this as a buzz single when it bombs into oblivion btw. 1
kellebrity98 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 (edited) please please please the hate… same thing u guys did with espresso on how bad it is then u were gagged when it pulled 9 million streams, u will do the same thing ahhhgain with ppp Edited June 7 by kellebrity98 1 2
Julia Fox Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I liked this a lot but expected so much better tbh but it's a cute song, she's a huge country fan so I expected a song like that based on the snippet
georgechxng Posted June 7 Posted June 7 this is so bland, boring and uninspiring. a one hit wonder like many of us predicted. her tate mcrae momentum was cute while it lasted. 3 1
Walk_Away21 Posted June 7 Posted June 7 7 minutes ago, tbhmatt said: I enjoyed this, it's got a very nostalgic feel to it and the faintest of 1970s influences with a modern twist. I'm not sure what it is, whether it's the guitars, the chorus melody etc but I hear the faintest of Abba / Fleetwood Mac influences, especially in vocal delivery. It doesn't have a strong or irresistible hook like Espresso does though and I imagine a lot of people might think this is a bit of a weak follow up to such a smash. It's kind of a cute B side to Espresso. Shows a different side while Espresso still smashes until the album releases. Plus country is in rn so maybe it will be a cute bubbling under until the next single on album release is a smasha.
bluevelvetcrowbar Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I find this more interesting than Espresso, but Espresso is much more of an earworm. Looking forward to the album!
