The media has been painting them as hate-fueled infernos that need to be extinguished at all costs. And you think it's a surprise that the most propagandized population on Earth thinks this way? When coverage has not been remotely balanced and the counterprotesters' violence has been completely ignored???????

You constantly complain about the media not being fair to Democrats when they do nothing but carry water for whomever is in charge. Enough. :deadbanana4:

Americans, regardless of media portrayal, generally reject violence as a means of protest.

I hope these leftist anti-capitalist, Marxist, intersectional, eco-feminist, decolonize movements can internalize that and stop perpetuating nonsense.

And people can hope for a lot of things, but they can't always get what they want.

Again, the violence came from counterprotesters at UCLA. The police let that carry out for hours. Then they came and got their turn to brutalize protesters the very next night. You can pretend that didn't happen and deny reality like the media does all you want, but that doesn't change anything about your political faves being demonic pieces of **** that want Arabs to die for the sake of Israeli supremacy.

Masked protesters raise doubts about their intentions and only fuel suspicions of violence, making it a self-inflicted PR wound.

Though, I'm skeptical about their need for masks. If I were in a peaceful protest, I would want everyone to know I was on the right side of history — just like in the Civil Rights Movement they keep invoking. They must have been doing something they didn't want to be identified with. Oh well.

They are fully aware of what they're being accused of, and they know that Bill Ackman will drive full-blown harassment campaigns with electronic billboards decrying them as hateful antisemites that should never even be hired to work in a fast food chain. Israel and its supporters genuinely can mete out much harsher punishments with the Canary Project than simply being arrested. Antisemitism is viewed as the one unique evil form of hate that must always be punished and silenced, even if the label isn't even accurate. The mere accusation is enough to ruin your life forever. Meanwhile, being openly and undeniably racist against black people can either get you elected as a Republican President of the United States or the best-performing single on the Hot 100 in 2023.

Hyperfixating on protesters protecting themselves against the PR tactics of deranged Zionists like Bill Ackman, Shai Davidai, Eve Barlow, Brianna Wu and Noa Tishby is really weird.

The electronic billboards and harassment campaigns are going to backfire big time.

The protesters should conduct mass vigils for the lives lost in Gaza. It's way harder for people to conflate peaceful candlelit vigils with antisemitism.

Why do you think people do not have access to the internet? Birthright laws in Israel are quite literally part of Israeli apartheid and the subjugation of Palestinians.

Why does someone born in *re-reads website* Brooklyn have an innate right to Israeli citizenship yet a Palestinian born in Gaza should be forcefully deported to Egypt?

Don't worry. There's a Nikki Haley voter waiting in the wings to make up for all this fallout from his base among young voters, Black voters, Arab American voters and Independents!!!!

I don't think she was going to vote for Biden anyway. Can't lose what you never had. :bird:

I am glad she is standing up for her beliefs and is trying to create a better tomorrow for everyone equally. She even acknowledges the price still leaves her safe in comparison to those impacted by what is going on so I am glad she is aware of even that privilege. But it is still heartbreaking seeing so many basically new adults learning for the first time that sometimes speaking out and doing the right thing is going to potentially significantly negatively impact your future possibly even permanently by joining in. For many these will probably be the first real consequences they face even if they are doing the right thing. Not that, that should discourage anyone from doing what they are doing. I just hope all are fully aware and ready to pay that price
